    "Best Remote Desktop Ever!!!"

    Posted 2024-09-12

Pros: I started using ISL Light during COVID when I could not come into work because I had to stay home to help my kids with school. It was a lifesaver for me because I am the inventory manager at my vet office and I was able to order inventory for the clinic, keep track of inventory, manage our online pharmacy and manage our schedule all from home. ISL made it very easy for me to remote in to our scheduling software and to make client notes. I still use it even though I am back in the office. It is very easy to use and give me more flexibility with my time.

Cons: I don not have any complaints with ISL Light, I think it is a great platform.

Overall: Great Platform, I like how easy it is to switch back and forth between my computer screen at work and my home screen. Overall it is very easy to use.

"Providing GDPR-approved connections from other continents"

    Posted 2024-09-11

Pros: ISL Online is easy to use for non-IT professionals, providing a GDPR-approved secure environment. The connection is quite stable. We have used this connection from 3 different continents and multiple devices.

Cons: If I am using a small computer, it can be difficult to see the details of the other screen.

Overall: Doing emails and connecting into local accounts via the internet on a computer on the other side of the world has been a life-saver for our organization.

Overall: Great product, we use it for support or to run applications on a remote computer. Excellent product and easy to use.

Pros: Easy to use, secure, has a smart phone client that uses simple gestures to control remote devices. I use this daily and can support anyone from wherever I am. It's light weight and very easy to use.

Cons: The ONLY thing id change is to have the ability to copy and paste files right through the window.

Overall: Overall this makes remote support so much easier than the old days. Pricing is right, support is good.

Pros: ISL Light makes connecting to my work computer from home easy. It has saved me from having to drive the 45 minutes to my office several times.

Cons: The only con that I have is that the resolution could be a little crisper.

Overall: ISL Light has been a time saver and made it possible for me to fix issues remotely for staff members and network systems.

    "Small Business Time Saver Deluxe"

    Posted 2024-08-30

Pros: Easy access allows software to be used by those with little technology proficiency. Our firm now uses this software with 20% or more of all our clients, with multiple clients only working with our office because we have a remote option. ISL Online has allowed our firm to continue its growth trajectory.

Cons: As anyone who runs a business would say, less expensive would be nice, but I really can't say that we have a gripe there as it remains the best option for the money I have found.

Overall: ISL Online has been a pleasant surprise for our office. We were in the market for remote software and asked our IT professional for a suggestion. I had used other software in the past (TeamViewer, SplashTop, LogMeIn) but was really impressed with the ease of download from our firm's perspective and the ease of download for the client. The number one factor was that we were looking for a software that would allow us to continue serving our clients without the continued travel to each of their offices. ISL Online has been a game-changer! Thank you!

    "Good product and great value"

    Posted 2024-08-29

Pros: I've been using ISL Online for probably about 10 years.
I managed a lot of computers through ISL Online and there were never any issues. It shows you the IP address of each computer and whether each computer is online/offline. They update a lot of features but the simple web interface, they've kept, which is great.

Cons: The Remote power on (Wake On Wan) I've had trouble activating/getting to work but I'm assuming it's more of a function of the computer itself rather than ISL Online. I don't necessarily need it so it has not been a problem

Overall: ISL Online is pretty easy to setup, I can set up each computer (60+ computers) pretty quickly, maybe <2 minute on each once you get in the groove. ISL Online has been pretty good with pricing, and although it's gone up a bit, you can go with the prepaid, pay as you go, type of of pricing if you don't use as much. Overall, very good

Pros: The ability to take control of both Windows and Mac machines from anywhere, including mobile devices is a real asset. File transfers are easy.

Cons: As being someone who also does budgeting, paying for anything is always the hard part for me :). The value and ease of use added by ISL makes paying for it less of a sting.

Overall: I really enjoy not only the stability offered but the innovations that the team at ISL keep coming up with including making it easier to email installers of the client piece to end users.

    "Great Software for Remote Support"

    Posted 2024-08-26

Pros: I can use my cell phone to remote into computers for support
    unlimited amount of devices
Remote into multiple devices at a time (with correct licensing)
Can create groups and grant certain users access to certain groups
Can transfer data back and forth using software
Can configure unattended access as well as require users to authenticate

Cons: Slight quirks with the desktop software such as scrolling down to group, click on group and program takes back up to the top.
When using unattended access, would be nice to be able to switch to sharing my screen

Overall: Great product. I can access customer computers from wherever I am from my phone of PC. Well worth it. I have been using this product for years and it has improved my efficiency massively. This is the best remote support product out there.

"ISL Light: The Ultimate Remote Support Solution with Robust Security and Versatility—A Must-Have for IT Professionals!"

    Posted 2024-08-23

Pros: I've had a positive experience with ISL Light as a remote support solution. Its user-friendly interface makes it easy to connect with clients and troubleshoot issues efficiently. I particularly appreciate the high level of security it offers, ensuring that all remote sessions are encrypted and protected. The cross-platform compatibility is also a big plus, allowing seamless connections across various devices and operating systems. Additionally, the ability to customize and brand the interface adds a professional touch that's valuable for businesses.

Cons: On the downside, I have noticed that some advanced features available in other remote support tools are either limited or absent in ISL Light. Also, while the pricing is reasonable for the features provided, smaller businesses or individual users might find it a bit steep. Despite these minor drawbacks, ISL Light remains a reliable and effective tool for remote support needs.

Overall: ISL Light is a tool that has exceeded my expectations in every way. What I really love about this software is its focus on security. We live in an era where data protection is crucial, and the end-to-end encryption offered by ISL Light gives me the peace of mind I need to remotely access devices without worry.

"Solid feature set with a better price point"

    Posted 2024-08-22

Pros: When TeamViewer switched to the subscription model and increased their pricing several years ago, we went in search of comparable solutions. As an MSP, we were drawn to ISL Light for not just the lower price point – but also the option to self-host, ability to connect to mobile devices (without it being an add-on), and coverage across all key operating systems. Management of multi-screen remote computers is much better with ISL than with other solutions we use such as JumpCloud. Clipboard sync and file transfer is much simpler too. We also appreciate that the software is under continuous development and enhancement.

Cons: Connecting to a remote computer does take a little longer, but it's still less than 30 seconds in most instances.

Overall: We have been using ISL Light for almost 5 years now and it remains an important tool in our MSP toolbox to effectively manage client fleets.

    "ISL Light Remote Desktop Review"

    Posted 2024-08-22

Pros: Ability to access medical and other records off site. Recently, we were able to access and forward email health records to a Veterinary Emergency Clinic while I was out of town and unable to physically access my office computers.

Cons: There are some records that I have been unable to access however.

Overall: Overall, we have quite pleased even with the limitations above. Access is sometimes very slow or unavailable. This may however be due to a lack of familiarity or due to password safeguards?

"5 years of ISL Light Remote Desktop"

    Posted 2024-08-22

    Pros: Ease of use.
    Multi-platform connect and support.
    Multi-screen support.
    Mobile device support.
Grouping of devices by client with custom naming of devices
Individual device connection passwords: using a separate password management tool, protect who has access to each device connection.
Reporting/logging and notification of remote device connection and disconnect occurrences.

Cons: Supporting mobile is cumbersome but it really would be difficult to improve it.
iOS devices present challenges for the user to activate the remote session. Sometimes, less savvy users have struggles activating the remote viewing security needed for support.

Overall: I love this product. It's simple, fast, secure, multi-user, multi-session, multi-tenant, and very cost effective.

Hi Kyle, thank you for your feedback. We understand the challenges with iOS devices—unfortunately, Apple only allows screen sharing, not remote control. If it helps, here’s a quick guide on how to enable screen sharing on iOS devices: https://www.islonline.com/si/en/mobile/#ios Regarding Android devices, here are some shortcuts that might make the user experience easier: https://help.islonline.com/56319/164133. Additionally, we’re planning to introduce unattended access in the coming months.

    "ISL User for years now"

    Posted 2024-08-22

Pros: I moved to ISL from a much more expensive hosted product in part to be able to self host and also to stop being nickel and dime'd. I love that your license comes with all of the features this software offers and you do not need to piecemeal together the solution.

Cons: When using this with a Mac you have to instruct users to open a DMG file and then run the program. I understand why this is but it is often confusing for end users and does hamper the use.

Overall: Having used this for years now and having the ability to use my computer and tablet to support my customers seamlessly all included in the very reasonable license cost of this software is just excellent. The software performs every time and offers very low friction once the receiving party runs the software. It is incredibly feature complete as a support tool and offers the best value on the market in my experience.

Hi Kris, thanks for sharing your feedback! We agree that the experience with Apple devices could be smoother, but this is regulated by Apple and beyond our control. For the first session with a client, ISL Light will require macOS permissions to view and control the remote desktop. To assist you and your clients, we’ve prepared a guide with screenshots on how to enable these permissions: https://help.islonline.com/19403/2481733 We hope it helps!

"ISL Light helps me keep IT travel time Light"

    Posted 2024-08-22

Pros: ISL provides a basis for remote repairs and user help across the 9 centers we support. It is always up and running when I need it to be, which allows me to help staff quickly and efficiently without having to send them any sort of remote login link that they may not understand how to use.
ISL also allows me to monitor which computers are online and being utilized as well as wake hibernating PCs for updates remotely.

Cons: To change an access password requires travel to the computer in question and accessing ISL. This is a rare occurrence that is not worth complaining about, as it only occurs when the previous admin did not properly record access passwords.

Overall: In total, ISL is a great asset to any organization with a small IT team but large physical footprint. It allows flexibility to make most repairs remotely and does not require additional training for the end user to utilize. It is well worth the investment for any organization looking to streamline IT solutions.

Hi Kyler, thanks for your feedback! You can change the main password for accessing a remote computer at any time, but you must know the old password to do so. For more details, please refer to our guide: https://help.islonline.com/506918/165955 If you've forgotten the main password or if a previous admin didn’t archive it correctly and you don't have access to it, you’re right—you’ll need to either travel to the remote computer or have someone there to help you connect via a remote session.

"My experience with ISL has been positive, with the following advantages"

    Posted 2024-08-22

    Pros: - Security
    - Speed
    - Accessibility
The speed and management with which it allows access to the equipment, segmenting and being able to record the sessions works a lot as educational content.

Cons: However, I have encountered one disadvantage:
    - When the internet connection is lost, the service can take some time to resume

Overall: Despite this, I have been using ISL for 2 years to provide remote support in my company and it has performed exceptionally well
