I see similar strange things when I open new data files with an old build or vice versa. As for the falls, this really is a bug. The GUI is displaying a different (and empty) data column than the scanner uses to store the fallen counters. I'll commit an update soon (i.e. after testing in a few minutes.) -- Lark <lar...@ya...> |

Scratch my other email. The Untrainus message has the char name in it, so it was easy to fix it. I guess I only implemented it halfway back then and forgot to not check it in. :-) It should work now. -- Lark <lar...@ya...> |

Been playing with the latest build some more. I'm assuming that the debug window shows everything that was scanned. So, I'm using it was a reference to check if its not being counted or if the GUI's just not displaying it yet. It doesn't appear that falls are being counted. I'm showing no falls in either window and I know I'm not that good. =) Anonymous karma should be counted if its not already. Its not showing anywhere. Is the messages that a trainer says to you still being recorded? If it is, it appears something changed to break it. Looks like probably in v171 from the massages that are listed in the debug window. Actually, thinking about it now, it has to be recorded to show anything, so it looks like the trainer messages are broken. Well, I think that's it for now. I'll let you know if I come up with anything else. This is with the PPCDebug build. > OK, I'm an idiot. Just figured out how to edit them. Works great except for a couple small problems and they might just be not implemented yet. First is that you can't edit your number of departs. Second is the total number of ranks doesn't get updated when you edit one of the fields. The only way I could get the correct total was to close the window and reopen the player's window. Another unrelated item I saw today is that the scanner is still recording when a player watches another player untrain as ranks in untrainus. Untrainus should also not be included in the training panel or in the rank total. Maybe add it to the right side of the display where number of departs are shown. This is with the PPCDebug build. It should... works fine over here. Single (or double) click on a number, or where the number would be for an empty field. It becomes editable. Note: Due to the way the outlinetable editfields are, you can only click on a field with content - and only on the content. So, if a field has "6" you have to click on the 6, not to the left of it. For empty fields, i put in a hack - fill the field with a few spaces so there is something to click! Perhaps i should add space "padding" on the left side of fields with numbers, so its easier to click. This will make us use more memory, though. > >> PROJECT FILE: >> - some pretty major changes, i reccomend you import this one: >> >> - Add 68k and Carbon targets (carbon not yet tested) > >I couldn't get the carbon final to build the way it currently is. Not sure if that might be causing the carbon errors. Should have been more clear - i never even TRIED to build the carbon target. I built PPC-Debug and 68k-Debug fine with 6.2. My work just gave me two MORE days off, so i will start work on that one. First, though i think I should finish up adding stuff not in the GUI. >Couple small notes: > >The background in the text fields for all the items is white. I use it to make release builds. It does use a ton of memory on that file, I can only build with >256M assigned to CW. It's due to inlining, you can turn if off for that file by adding a pragma at the beginning of it. (In fact, it may still be there but commented out - it's definitly in the CVS istory.) Lark |

(though i do have CarbonLib) Ok, I've committed my mods. Here are most of the major changes (Some other minor stuff in the cvs logs) CHANGELOG - Allow editing of fields! Wohoo! - If you want to add and hand-enter a trainer, beast, item or exile that isnt in your list or logs, you can use the "Add Field to Table" dialog in the Scribia menu. - New 68k build. - Scribia got a race change. - Added Flexi menu-views for Beasts and Items (NUKE YOUR SCRIBIA PREFS file) There are some extra items in the menus for beasts and exiles that are not displayed by default, if you select a different stat to view from the popup, scribia remembers your selection. ScribiaKeys.h Scribia.l - Reorganized keys - they have to be in a source file, or the compiler is unhappy. The keys defined "extern" in ScribiaKeys.h are defined in Scribia.l. CScribiaDocumentWindow.cp ScribiaDoc.cp CEditItem.cp - Cleanups - Enable modifying of data. - Added dialog so the user can add a new field CKillsView.cp CKillsView.h CItemsView.h CItemsView.cp - Changed to flexible menu view. PROJECT FILE: - some pretty major changes, i reccomend you import this one: - Add 68k and Carbon targets (carbon not yet tested) - Reorganized Prefix file structure - using the default powerplant filenames: CommonClassicPrefix.h CommonCarbonPrefix.h DebugCarbonPrefix.pch++ DebugClassicPrefix.pch++ FinalCarbonPrefix.pch++ FinalClassicPrefix.pch++ and removing the old pch++ file. - Admittedly half the files are mostly empty, but this is how the default multitarget carbon project does it. - We still use DebugPrefix.h, FinalPrefix.h and CommonPrefix.h - If someone can make a new XML file for the CW5 project, it would be appreciated. Can CW5 open CW6 xml files? NOTE: for some reason CW wont let me add the Documentation files to the project. If someone can do that and reupload the xml file it would also be appreciated. I've committed some minor patches to the scanner to support the new-style skinning messages with critter names in them. This alone is probably not enough to warrant a new release - does anybody have anything queued up for commit? (And if not - why not? :-) I've had a request for a 68k release, or a fat binary, so Scribia can be run on PC Mac emulators. I've tried to add the targets, but build fails (some problem withthe precompiled headers). If anyone knows how to do this, please take a stab at it. Thanks! I've made some changes to the scanner to support mandible extraction. It treats it identical to skinning, meaning it increments the same counters. We should probably rename skinning/furs/etc in the GUI to something more general (trophy income?) I'd commit it, but the sourceforge people killed my CVS access again - it worked fine yesterday... -- Lark <lar...@ya...> |

Scribia 0.2.1-beta can be downloaded from http://sourceforge.net/projects/scribia/ Scribia 0.2.1-beta may require Apple Carbon Lib (we have conflicting reports on this one). It can be downloaded free of charge from http://asu.info.apple.com/swupdates.nsf/artnum/n11916 Please send submissions/suggestions/problem reports to scr...@so... Changed since last release: - Modified some keys. This will break your save files. They will open, but may have strange entries/multiple data. Sorry. Next time ill convert them. We need to test scanning anyway. :) - Changed debug view to be 1000% faster. Text is also copyable from the debug view. Note: if you scan multiple logs, they will be appended to the debug output. Just select all and delete the text for a "clean" pane. - Trying out flexible "menu view" for the "Other"(exile) view - Some prefs are now saved: View last scanned doc and what items you are viewing in "Other" view. - Show progress bar and watch cursor while views are being built. - Fixed bug not displaying "last scanned" doc in shares, other and karma panes. - Changed character folder to "Scribia Characters" so we don't get mixed up with scribus files. - Fixed Sylpha counting, and Aleanos spelling. New Things tracked: - Dentir Longtooth trainer. - Counting coins paid for advanced studies. - Counting number of times being cadded by another exile. - Tracking items thrown away (given to Junko). - Calculating maximum and average shares. -- Lark <lar...@ya...> |

Hello all My name is Mike (Azerak in clanlord), and I was just wonderin' if you guys needed help in the area of graphics? I'm not a programmer, but I did make 90% of the ground textures you see in clanlord :). Anyway, I'd also like to do some testing of the scribia app by using it as my actual score keeper, so to speak. Does beta 4 have editing capabilities yet? The one I have, which is the current release on sourceforge, does not allow the numbers to be changed. Is it possible to release the latest version (since the current release seems 2 versions behind)? Lemmie know if I can help with development :) -Azerak |

Ok, uploaded recent changes. Notes for those who have been building from cvs: - It would be great if someone with CW5 could add the new stuff to their project and upload a CW5 xml file for me. - You may need to nuke your Scribia prefs file this time, i changed the format. (not sure if LPreferences handles that, maybe it does.) - I changed some exile keys to be shorter. I'd like them as short as possible, definitely under 20 chars for the GUI. In particular we dont need the [Time] anyumore on the share fields. This will break save files for those fields since i didnt put any conversion in. (if anyone feels like doing so, go ahead. :) Not too concerned about telling users to re-scan since we are in beta still... - I've been updating the changelog. Also updated the readme, to mention that we need WASTE now. Actually we just need the header, since the library is in sioux-waste.lib i think. - When you build with the new changes watch the "code size" field in the for all the views drop.. :) - I think serious cutting down of the WTextView class could be done if anyone is bored. Lots of stuff we dont need in there. We can do whatever we want to it per Timothy. Probably we could lose all the AppleEvents stuff. The changes (by file. User-level stuff is in CHANGELOG): WASTE Wrapper new folder with WText support stuff. Add this folder to your project, and add an access path to the WASTE headers. Scribia.l Fix misspellings of Aleanos and that other mystic person. Fix Sylpha. Add Dentir longtooth. Change a couple keys to be shorter... not using enums here yet. MoneyView.cp SharesView.cp KIllsView.cp ItemsView.cp KarmaView.cp OtherView.cp CMapTable.cp CMapTable.h Modified to use the const keys CScribiaDoc.cp Rewrote debug pane to use WText, making it 1000% faster. Dont need progress bar anymore, i think. CScribiaDocumentWindow.cp Include WTextView.h and register it ScribiaConstants.h Include keys file and change prefs struct to store key indexes. ScribiaKeys.h New file. Definitions of keys. Scribia.CW6.mcp.xml Updated -Ben -- NOTE: Please change my address in your address book from bh...@sa... to bh...@al... as my UCSD address will be permanent. <http://freepages.sf.rootsweb.com/~bhines/> - My Genealogy Pages |
