Hi, My problem is the following: when I send a copy of the graph to the clipboard and paste it into WORD, the coordinates (x,y) of the cursor in = the lower left corner also appear in WORD. How to desactivate the option, if any, which shows the coordinates (x,y) = of the cursor in the lower left corner in the Graph window before I send a c= opy of the graph to the clipboard? you should take a look to "help plot" on the commandprompt of gnuplot.
plot XYZ using ABC axes x1y2
might help you. You should really spend some time to look into the docs.

You complete neglected to show how you came from those data to the plot.
I.e. which commands you gave to your gnuplot. Without that
information, it's quite impossible for anyone to offer meaningful help.
Also note that your gnuplot executable is quite outdated --- 3.7 has
been replaced by 4.0 18 months ago.

If I understand you properly then all you want is to plot the data and fit a straight line. This is easy in gnuplot. you can set your xrange and yrange to be whatever you want - set xrange[0:*] set yrange[0:*] if you just want your axis to cross at the 0,0 point. See help xrange. You can also fit your data using: fit m*x + c 'data.dat' via m,c which will find the values of m and c that match your data best: type 'help fit' for a description of what this does. Hello, I am using pm3d to generate contour plots. I have data from -1 to 1 and so I used cbrange and palette with gnuplot version 4.0. set palette defined (-1.0 "blue", -0.5 "green", 0.0 "yellow", 0.5 "orange", 1 "red") But I only get these 5 colors on the plot. Is there a way to have more subtle changes (i.e. between -1 and -0.9 have a different blue etc...). I tried rgbformulae but it did not help. thanks in advance, Patricia |

Hi everyone, I have a question about the floor() function in gnuplot.. It seemed to me as if floor() function only works for values where the mantisa is less then 2^31 .. Is this the intended behavior ? I've got about 25 datasets I'd like to plot at the same time. I've downloaded and installed the 4.1 code in order to allow me to specify the color per line (PNG is output format). In order to be able to visually map each graphed line to the key, I'm using a variety of colors and two different widths. It's getting tough to tell some lines colors apart and would like to specify some line types as dashed in order to make them easier to identify. Is it possible to assign a dashed line a specific color? If so, how? Is it possible to assign a dashed line a color and > 1 linewidth? If so, how? Other options? Note that each dataset has 100s to 1000s of points so using linespoints makes each line a mess. This is 4.1. Thanks |

I have killed a day, trying to understand what I am doing
wrong, but cannot figure it out. I generate what I though
were well formed driver files for gnuplot, and data files for
each driver file to eat. But I get this:

The corrective patch (I think) is simply directing output to a
display, rather than a file [sorry about the use of -R -- I
diffed the wrong way]:

No. I mean that's exactly what you can *not* do. But you can turn of=20
gnuplot's automatically generated legend, and draw you own instead.=20
Manually, using 'set label' commands and maybe a 'set arrow' command to
draw a sample line.

1) edit the PostScript after the fact
2) edit the PostScript on-the-fly, by sending 'set output' through a
stream editing program
3) change the source and rebuild gnuplot.
