Hi,
what you can do is (I.e.)

set xtics ("" -2, "" -1.5, "" -1, "" -0.5, "" 0, "" 0.5, "" 1.0, "" 1.5, "" 
2.0)

this will create xtics without labeltext at the positions as depicted within 
the brackets. Probably someone has a better idea.

[Gnuplot-info] Is ther anyway to force xrange without changing the plot?

I have this plot  http://old.nabble.com/file/p30797061/test1.jpg test1.jpg 
with xrange[0:30] and x2range[0:3]. I am trying to 
1. hide xrange[0:30] and 
2. force x2range[0:3] to appear as xrange[0:3] as this one

Is there any option/trick to do that without affecting original plot?

set xrange [0:3]
set x2range [0:30]

maybe you shouldn't upload an excel file but the resulting plot in gif, png
or whatever graphics format.

Dear All,

I am trying to carry out sum functionality on a dataset, and wonder how I
can possible do that.

Suppose I have dataset aaa.txt
1   4
2   5
3   4
4   9
5   10

and I would like to get sum of the second column. I guess the basic idea is
to use set term dumb, and thought of something like this

set term dumb
s=0
plot 'aaa.txt' u (s=s+$2,$1):2 w l

but it complains that ')' expected. I kind of know why as everything in the
plot statement is treated as character expression, and might not recognize
"+" operation. Please correct me if wrong.

So what else can I do to get me out of this problem?

I have 3D data file. I want to visualize it in pm3d style and I need
that a certain function would be applied to the 3rd column.

For example,

File data.dat
0 0 2
0 1 3
1 0 5
1 1 6

should be vizualized as

0 0 log10(2)
0 1 log10(3)
1 0 log10(5)
1 1 log10(6)

What should I do?

Hello,

Found it, it was a stupid error, but pdflatex was not reporting it
correctly, the problem was that I had a "\\" in ylabel, and you cannot
use "\\" with epslatex. Thanks for the interest.

a solution, but I haven't been able to find any. Here are my files:

Hello, 

I am looking for a Gnuplot port for Macintosh. A quick
search does not give any good answer to this question. Any recommended
solution? I have Mac OS X 10.6 on the laptop. 

Maybe this is not the

[Gnuplot-info] display values within stacked boxes of rowstacked histograms in gnuplot?

I am using gnuplot (Version 4.4 patchlevel 2) to generate rowstacked
histograms, very similar to the example called "Stacked histograms by
percent" from the gnuplot demo site at
http://www.gnuplot.info/demo/histograms.html

I want to display the values of each stacked box within it.

I.e. I want to display the actual numerical value (in percent and/or the
absolute number) of each box, within each box. (Because as the stack
histogram is now, it is not possible to see the exact numerical values, or
any values as at all -- please see link to the example above).

How can I do that?

Whether that's possible, and if so, how, depends on the terminal driver 
you're using.  So what do you get for

you could plot points on top of the data curve:

plot "datafilename" with lines, "" using ((int($1)-1)%3==0?$1:0/0):2 with
points

with the same mechanism (plot specific points only) you may plot
labels too (... with labels offset ...).

instead of 'with points' you may use 'with yerrorbars' and give the 'ydelta'
value as a third argument to the 'using' option.

It gives me only the contour without the other data :confused:. Could you
