Herkese selam, Bildiğiniz gibi çeviri projesi ile çeşitli projelerin sürüm yayınlama tarihleri birbirlerinden bağımsız çalışıyor. Bunun bir sonucu, sürüm yayınlandığı zaman çevirisinin hazır olmaması ve daha sonra bitirilmesi. Böyle durumlarda maalesef herhangi bir sebeple (maintenance release gibi) eski sürüm tekrar bir değişiklikle yayınlanmaz ise, daha sonra bitirilen çeviri sürümün içerisinde yer almıyor, ancak bir sonraki sürümde işe yarayabiliyor. Paketler, genelde tam sürüm olmadan önce beta hallerini çeviri projesine gönderiyorlar. Bu pre/beta vb adlı PO dosyasını çevirirseniz, yakın gelecekte dağıtıma girecek olan paketin içinde Türkçe çevirisinin yer almasını sağlarsınız. Eğer bu zaman zarfında çeviri gerçekleşmezse, yaptığınız çalışma ya bir sonraki sürüm için ön çalışma olarak kullanılıyor, ya da arada bir hata ayıklama sürümü çıkarsa onun içinde yer alabiliyor. Boşa gitmiyor ama son kullanıcının önüne çıkması gecikiyor. Yeni PO dosyaları hakkında bilgi listeye geçiliyor. Üzerinde çalıştığınız bir paketin yeni PO dosyası çıktığı zaman işinizi bu yeni dosyaya aktarın. Önce eldekini, sonra yenisini diye düşünmeyin. Hepsini yapmak istiyorsanız, önce yenisini, sonra eskisini çevirin. Komut satırında msgmerge ve kbabel'da "Ham Çeviri" eski dosyadaki çevirilerinizi yeni dosyaya aktarmanızda yardımcı. Eğer bir dosyayı yapmaya talip olmuş ve uzun zaman el sürmemişseniz, çalışmaya başlamadan önce Takım Sayfa'mıza bir göz atın. Güncel sürümlerin ne olduğu da artık orada yer alıyor.
