    "Amazing alternative to Google Drive!"

    Edited 2024-01-17

Pros: Offers a wide range of apps for efficient workflow and collaboration.
Features like video calls and collaborative tools are great for team projects.
Effective for both personal and business file storage and management.

Cons: Requires self-hosting or setting up through a Nextcloud partner. I preferred not to set it up at the moment. Although, I am capable to host it as I have hosted ownCloud earlier. I did not want to deal with port forwarding and other server related issues. So, I chose to go with a Nextcloud partner which has worked flawlessly for me.

Overall: Switching to Nextcloud from Google Drive has been a positive experience, especially for business purposes. Its range of features and apps, including video conferencing, makes it a robust choice for those needing a comprehensive file storage solution. The platform is highly recommended for its adaptability and efficiency, though it might be complex for basic users or those unfamiliar with server setups.

    "Self hosted cloud solution"

    Posted 2022-04-04

    Pros: Open source.
Self Hosted - perfect for home use and absolutely free.
    Highly secure.
    Available on smartphones.

Cons: The client doesn't work well for uploading large number of small files (like old photos on phone).

Overall: Nextcloud is the perfect solution for those who want to host their files on their own private clouds to enable access from any device they allow. It is free. open source and is highly reviewed for security - there is no reason not to use it for personal or 'family' use.

    "Nextcloud Cloud review"

    Posted 2022-03-03

Pros: One of the pros of Nextcloud is that it has a number of providers for free, and you can choose a provider on a single click.

Cons: For the time I've used the Nextcloud providers, I haven't found any issues to my attention.

Overall: Overall, Nextcloud is a solid, privacy-friendly alternative to Google Drive, Dropbox and other cloud providers, and I would recommend to anyone needing a cloud service, or wanting to build a server.

"A solid alternative to other mainstream online collaboration environments"

    Posted 2021-05-07

Pros: -slower, stable growth path of scale, scope and capabilities.
    -APP plugin market.
    -integration capabilities (excellent with ONLYOFFICE).
-great starter for private person with growth path into small business.
    -fantastic community.

Cons: -quality review of app plugins could be better (what works well for what version).
-version handling (plugin capabilities seem to often link to specific versions).
-needs to expand on developer and community efforts.

Overall: Nextcloud is a great platform to build your own, secure collaboration platform on - specially if you run your own server/NAS. It has the capability to grow with your needs, including into small and medium size business. It is pretty stable, yet watch out for app compatibility through the versions.
