About

Remote access tools can be messy—different clients, unmanaged credentials, and no clear visibility. Remote Desktop Manager changes that. It centralizes all your remote connections in one place, with support for RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol), SSH (Secure Shell), Telnet, VPNs (Virtual Private Network), and many other protocols. Users get cross-platform access from Windows, macOS, Linux, and mobile. Sessions can be launched in 1 click, while credentials are stored in shared or personal vaults. All activity is tracked, and role-based access control ensures least-privilege enforcement. The Remote Connection & IT Management package enhances RDM with Devolutions Gateway for secure, just-in-time tunnels; Hub or Server for credential storage; and session audit logs to meet compliance requirements. Everything integrates seamlessly through RDM’s interface. It’s a streamlined, policy-driven solution for IT teams that want full control over remote access without bouncing between tools.

About

SecureDesk is a self-hosted remote support and device management platform for Windows environments, built so the operator's own infrastructure, not a third-party cloud sits in the middle of every session. It supports two connection modes: attended sessions for real-time, on-demand remote assistance where the end user is present to approve the connection, and unattended access for managing devices that aren't actively staffed, such as servers or kiosks. For deeper troubleshooting, technicians can drop into a SYSTEM-level shell to run administrative commands directly on the endpoint. The core of its design is the encryption model: both the technician's console and the remote endpoint generate their own AES-256-GCM keys, and endpoints connect outbound-only. The self-hosted relay that brokers each session only ever forwards ciphertext it holds no key for, so even the relay operator can't see or decrypt session content.

Audience

For MSPs, IT professionals & helpdesk technicians who need to share remote connections and privileged passwords with other team members.

Audience

IT support teams, help desks, and managed service providers (MSPs) responsible for Windows environments — anyone doing remote troubleshooting or device management who wants to avoid routing session data through a third-party cloud. It's a strong fit for organizations in privacy- and compliance-sensitive industries (healthcare, finance, legal, government) where visibility into remote-support traffic is a real security concern, since the relay itself can't decrypt session content. It also suits solo technicians and small IT shops via the free tier (one technician, three devices), as well as larger teams needing unattended access to unstaffed devices like servers and kiosks.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Can highly recommend this for server and password management for bigger companies - Easy to use and install
  • Make a connection with remote desktops immediately and access all passwords. With many integrations you can make it more powerful also AI support will make it more effective. Centralized use makes it very easy.
  • RDM has been a goto for over 8 years now, however, with the release of PAM on Devolutions server, this has upped our game in providing a seamless RDM experience with PAM integration.
  • Swiss Army Knife of Tools for SysAdmin, a great tool, which includes all the management tools in a single application for System Administration, especially like the SSH and RDP for managing all remote servers from single pain of glass.
  • I like the way this software has the all in one solution i need for any remote desktop connections and scripting like PowerShell.

Cons

  • Not ideal for small companies - People with little to none it skills shouldn’t use this
  • There is no cons for me. Maybe startup can be more fast
  • Better Session (RDP) and Password viewing is needed to ease and use for each scenario. We need to be able to launch RDP sessions with out requiring approval, however, a password exposure in PAM needs this approval and eyes on it.
  • Pricing could be cheaper! But all VMware vExperts get it for free!
  • The software is quite big in terms of functionality so at some times it might be hard to find the correct functionality needed.
