In conclusion, All the years of paying way too much for the hot new SaaS network monitoring solution are behind me. NMIS delivers a self-hosted (or self cloud hosted, costing very little and running on low spec VMs) network monitoring solution that provides insight into my network, informs me on the health of my network, and helps me make design decisions. Powerful and free. Good performance management and excellent configuration and event management if using the commercial modules. Cons If you don't have Linux skills or prefer windows then this is not the product for you. If you don't have basic networking skills then this is not the product for you. If you are only at system admin level in a basic network then there are other options out there. It is hard to get used to NMIS if you're accustomed to the expensive and beautiful interfaces provided by the big name SaaS solutions. However, you will fall in love with it once you hit up the onboarding team, read some of the docs and guides, and get it set up to fit your needs. Advanced functions like multi server architecture and high end event management require a commercial license.	Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros The product is very easy to install and we can start using right away. it gives us exactly what we need to know and we can see problems with our network before users are impacted. we can decide what we want to monitor and pay only for what we need. This product can tell us what impact changes to our network can do. - Easy to setup and configure. - A product I wish existed a long time ago. - Great for VOIP troubleshooting. - You pay for what you use, no surprises. You can add an agent to a remote computer and see where the problem resides and then remove it at very low cost. - Good variety agents available (we had one for our all external products). - You can dive into complex investigations very easily. - Great Dashboards and state of the Network - Able to be pro-active when network issues arise. - Great team for sales and support. No need for a technician to the install the agent, a simple user can do it. Documentation is accurate and clear for everyone. Obkio lets us monitor our internet connections around the world and address issues before users notice. Very easy to setup and use. Good variety of public agents available. You pay for what you use, nothing more. Gives a good amount of information. Great tools to visualize the state of a network. Good wiki. Cons Nothing except we would like to have more time to use all the features provided by the product. Nothing so far I can think of, like I said very easy to use and very powerful. Nothing comes to mind right now. I am satisfied with how I use it. Our team is not sure how to pronounce it. Is the O a hard or soft O? Nothing comes to mind right now!
