Cons: Agent Based Monitoring:
Infrastructure & APM monitoring are agent based, and our IT team invests significant effort in performing the agent upgrades. It would be highly beneficial if agent upgrades could be directly initiated from the UI. I understand that New Relic has recently introduced Fleet Management & are working towards enabling this functionality.
Occasional UI issues:
The web UI can occasionally become sluggish, especially when navigating through high traffic applications or dashboards with multiple widgets. This can impact real-time troubleshooting during Major Incidents.
Delayed support for new tech stacks:
While New Relic supports many technologies, support for emerging or niche internal tools may be delayed or absent. This can force teams to implement workarounds or rely on custom instrumentation.

Overall: My overall experience with New Relic has been highly positive. I find New Relic's intuitive dashboards, powerful visualizations & real-time data insights extremely valuable for day to-day application & infrastructure monitoring. New Relic's proactive support, frequent feature enhancements & a responsive community further add to the positive experience.
In summary, New Relic has been an indispensable part of our HPE application monitoring stack, enabling better performance, faster incident resolution & greater confidence in application reliability.

New relic AI is good for basic users who are new but for advance users it doesnt help much.

Easy to get started with, but is still feature rich. works with most common cloud stacks and open source tools. Works with all major OS's , containers, serverless. Provides trans. traceability, synth monitoring and real time reporting. Supports single sign-on, on prem and cloud assets.

Cons: Does not integrate/work well with some key proprietary vendor provided platforms (ie. SAP, Cloudera, Vmware, salesforce).
Difficult/complex licensing strategy making it hard to manage costs.
