Interesting ..
Do you have any CGI-related environment variables set at the command like
SCRIPT_NAME or SERVER_ROOT ? These may be confusing Webmin scripts..

This *may* be related to a problem I was working on recently..

Does the slave system run a Linux variant like Ubuntu that doesn't allow 
root to login directly, and only allows you to login to Webmin as some user
who can sudo to root?

Also, in the Webmin Servers Index module on the master, does the entry for the
slave system have 'Use fast RPC login?' set to 'Yes' ? It should..

Hi Vernon,<br />If you are using Virtualmin Pro, the option to change the IP is on the left frame under Server Configuration. Well yesterday night I got this email form webmin:

"Service monitor : Samba Servers down on servername" !!!


So it succeed in report the problem when run at the schedule time.


But when I try manually to make it send me report it doesn't.

Just wondering why you can't edit it in Virtualmin. Is there a reason? It would be

[webmin-l] [1.320] Integration between virtualmin/webmin/protected directories

Protected directories should, imho, be integrated with virtualmin/virtual server configuration.. or at least be able to use data from a given site.

Example; I'm editing a virtual server, so webmin knows where "I am" in regards to directories and so on.. now I want to add a protected directory, for that site .. it's somewhat cumbersome, and it shouldn't have to be. A directory browser or something along those lines, with the current web sites root might make more sense..

I hope I'm making sense :-)

When you say 'see all directories', do you mean in the file browser popup
window? If so, this can be restricted by going to Webmin Users -> groupname
-> Global ACL.

i want to allow 1 user access to be locked to his account for 
upload/download of files.

i created a new webmin group and set only Upload/Download in that group.
i can login as the user but see all the directories when looking for "File 
or directory to upload to"
also i cannot see the Module Config despite this being set.

O_o  Oooookaaay.  The whole point of suexec is that CGI scripts run 
under the UID of the domain owner, rather than the UID of the webserver. 
  IIRC there's a hardcoded restriction in suexec (and, for that matter, 
a great many similar tools) that effectively reads "If UID==0, die NOW!".

This also typically means that you MUST have a user defined for each 
domain in your system password file, unless you hack the code to allow 
bare UIDs.  IIRC in *some* cases you can use "#<uid>" as well, but there 
are some unfortunate side effects relating to user home directories.

I guess it makes sense as an addition to the existing search field .. I will
add this in the next Webmin release (for MySQL and PostgreSQL databases and
tables).

As an option.. pretty please? I don't like having to "swap" tab to phpMyAdmin to do basic stuff that I could just as well do while I'm already on the Webmin tab in my browser. But I cannot possibly maintain a working memory of all the databases we have :-)

Already possible - if you have an err-log entry in /etc/my.cnf for the MySQL
log, it will be viewable in Webmin's System Logs module.

Actually, this is already possible - just select a file from the right-side
list, and click on the Info button on the toolbar. In the window that pops up,
you can select the Unix user/group/other permissions..
