Hi there, I am trying to develop a module that refreshes part of the page every time it gets an update through a UDP socket. I have tried using the CGI::Ajax module for this purpose but it is not working (no data being displayed). Any advice? Thank you. Regards, MFR |

Hi Sylvia, Are you trying to redirect from within Webmin to that CUPS URL https://192.168.1.5:631 ? If that Access-Control-Allow-Origin header is what's needed, you could output it before the redirect with code like : print "Access-Control-Allow-Origin: https://192.168.5.1:631\n"; &redirect("https://192.168.5.1:631"); On 08/Sep/2020 04:43 Sylvia Weber via webadmin-devel <web...@li...> wrote .. > Hi, > > I am developing a custom webmin module and since a couple of days I am trying to > get a redirection to another page (CUPS on the same server as Webmin) to work. > > When I am using the redirect-Function (&redirect("https://192.168.1.5:631")), the > browser shows an error: CORS header 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' missing. > > As mentioned in this bug (https://github.com/webmin/webmin/issues/1026), I added > Access-Control-Allow-Origin: "https://192.168.5.1:631" to Extra HTTP headers in > the Webmin Configuration but the result is the same. Hi, I am developing a custom webmin module and since a couple of days I am trying to get a redirection to another page (CUPS on the same server as Webmin) to work. When I am using the redirect-Function (&redirect("https://192.168.1.5:631")), the browser shows an error: CORS header 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' missing. As mentioned in this bug (https://github.com/webmin/webmin/issues/1026), I added Access-Control-Allow-Origin: "https://192.168.5.1:631" to Extra HTTP headers in the Webmin Configuration but the result is the same. I also installed the browser add-on mentioned in issue 1026 (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/cookies-and-headers-analyser/) which shows the value '"https' for access-control-allow-origin. (By the way I also tried with single and without quotation marks.) I don't know much about http headers, so I can't tell if Webmin or the add-on are cutting the value at the colon. I did some further tests: If I use PrintHeader() instead of ui_print_header() the link works fine. I am stuck now and don't know how to solve this problem. Thanks a lot in advance for hints and help! For example, the “Software Packages” module has an icon next to the “From local file” input box. If you click this icon, you get a file listing from which you can select a file to installation. What you need to do is look at the underlying web page code using a tool like Firefox’s firebug. There you will see that clicking that icon invokes the “chooser.cgi” script. In this case I believe that is pointing to /usr/libexec/webmin/chooser.cgi. You should then examine how this code is used for your particular application. Hope this helps. Directadmin migration is fully supported - you can either use the migrate-domain command with the --type directadmin flag, or select that type on the migration for in the UI. |

Hi Andrea, This is definitely possible - if your module is a Virtualmin plugin that has been enabled on the Feature and Plugins page, you can create scripts in the module directory named like your-api-call.pl that have a similar structure to the .pl scripts for the core Virtualmin API (which can be seen in the virtual-server directory). - Jamie |

Hello, I'm currently investigating the possibility to use virtualmin in our shared hosting environment. Since we will need custom modules I'm also trying to figure out if/how it is possible expose functions added in a custom module through virtualmin Remote API calls.. From the documentation it looks like Remote API is used to call the same functions that can be called through the commandline virtualmin script. So probably my question should sound more like "How can I export my custom module functions to the virtualmin script" ? Thanks you, .a.c. Andrea carpani |

That's awesome!
