I know, it's a weird thing with the console window overriding some
keybindings. Mac gurus are welcome to fix it :-)

Yes, they are counted.

I've sent a followup to that ticket, you should to (and everybody else that
is still waiting for pserver access). Tell them:

1. CVS over SSH does not work on the Mac.

2. Sourceforge support staff has told your project admin that her developers
must ask for pserver access to project scribia's CVS tree via a support
ticket.

3. You are doing that now.

  - counting how often we're boosted and seeked by mystics
  - keep count of how often we're being chained by a chainer (possible
    since v165)

Bug isn't a real big thing since I doubt it'll be around in any sort of
release, but key bindings don't work when the console window is the front
most window.

When the console reports that the player name wasn't found, is that file
still counted and what's the criteria for that message?  I have a few files
that I'm getting that message for that are valid log files.  Each one of
them is the log that started up after recovering from a crash.

OK.

I am growing tired of trying to fix that problem on my own. Who in those
reading this list have successfully committed any change to the Scribia
project using a Mac client?

Lark did. Rifkin did. Any more? Anyone else tried and failed?

In both case, did you need to ask the sf support people to give you
specific pserver access?

I logged a request for that on the support page of SF (Support Request
#111407 ) but it has been closed with a reference to the documentation,
which i have reread again in full, with no mention on how to get either SSH
access on the Mac, or to get pserver access myself on SourceForge. (Answer
from gromit, whom I have CCed for this message, just in case he might help.)

At this point, I just don't know what to do more. Help!

/ponder do I need more than 100 pathfinding ranks to get in sourceforge? ;-)

following on from my earlier nitpicking.. ;)

i believe (but i'm not sure) that some of the language trainers may 
be missing.. Alias is proficient in all languages (sad sylvan that he 
is) but in the output file it only shows babelle (sylvan), lana (Zo i 
think) and sporrin (halfling)...

I do religiously keep my log files... but the ones with those 
specific messages may have drifted into another characters folder.. 
i'll check this (thank god for index by content in sherlock.. :) and 
find the messages and trainer names if you need...

Hello,

I was running Scribia and comparing it to Scribus.  I noticed that the 
trainer Loovma Geer wasn't showing up.  I'm sure this has been mentioned 
already, but figured I'd make sure.

It looks like Scribia will be a much appreciated upgrade from Scribus when 
you get ready to release it.

Jeff,

Scribia is an open-source, community-driven effort. It looks like you 
(1) have programming skills and (2) have an interest in seeing a 
working, Scribus-like application. We'd be happy if you'd decide to help 
out with Scribia a little bit. Especially if you know PowerPlant... :-)

If you have specific suggestions on how to improve Scribia, please send 
them to scr...@so...! Counting-related issues tend   
to get resolved quicker than UI-related ones.

I do.  I'll send it out to the list late tonight when I get back in town.  
Probably after midnight pst.  I think I can also get some of the language 
trainers and the brewer.  I'll have to double check on those though, not 
positive if I have them.

What you did were the correct steps, so it seems you don't have write
access. I cannot verify this, however.

When I make people developers, sourceforge gives them SSH write access. This
method of access (rsh with a 3rd-party tool) does not work on the Mac,
however. (There are no fully SSH-compliant clients.)

So, after I make you a developer, you have to open a support item with
sourceforge on their web site, and ask them to give you pserver access to
the scribia CVS repository.

Have you done this? If you have, maybe they screwed up.

I know you are a developer, but that only means that SSH/CVS works for you.
The pserver/CVS access method cannot be enabled by me, neither can I check
if you have it. Only the sourceforge people can do that.

As a workaround, if you have access to a Unix or Windows box, you can check
things in from there using SSH/CVS. It's find it easier on Unix than on
Windows, but that's probably because I try to avoid using it.

I meant if one exile is named (say) ABC and another ABCD, some log entries
in ABC's logs that were caused by ABCD doing things (like finding items)
were counted for exile ABC by mistake before 0.1.2. Clearer? :-)

I'm not to sure I like it either. I just put it in because it was easy, and
I wanted some feedback on the idea. Mission accomplished.

Scribus counts it, too. And it overcounts (doesn't subtract disconnected
times in a log), so your depression should be less compared with Scribus.

Before, I'd count \action and \narrate lines that contained things like
"Lark finds a longbow." by mistake.

Again, Scribus counts it, so I'm trying to make Scribia count it.

There are some additional files that the CW6 project needs, so we will need
a second XLM project file. I'd really, really like the sources to compile
under both versions though, using #ifdefs if all else fails.

Are you using a tree checked out as yourself (i.e. not anoncvs)? If you use
MacCVS 3.1, look at the "Root" file in any "CVS" directory in your local
tree. Does it contain something like this ->
:pserver:la...@cv...:/cvsroot/scribia
The thing to look for is your username between ":pserver:" and "@".

If it does, maybe try to log in again? Otherwise, I'm clueless...

it happens quite a bit with me, and i am not sure it's that useful a
feature. On the other hand, for people with multiple characters, I can
understand the need for it so i am somewhat unsure what to suggest here.

I've committed some changes to the CVS tree. I was hoping to also roll a
0.1.2 release, but RL things will keep me occupied for a while, so I figured
I commit this now so people can play with it.
