Dear all, I am constructing 2D figures containing several graphs. Each graphh has a title, but the title is placed in the right-upper corner of the figure. this is suitable for some of the figures but not for all, as in some cases, the graphs cross their titles. Is there a way to move these titles to the left-upper corner of the figure? Thanks in advance, Bert Disclaimer: http://www.kuleuven.be/cwis/email_disclaimer.htm |

Hi, I have a data in a matrix form. I am using pm3d map for plotting my data. I want a smoothly varying plot. Can you tell me is there any way gnuplot can interpolate the intermediate values between two points and give me a smooth curve. Thank you very much. Hi Everyone, I have manually set tics on the x and x2 axes using 'set xtics...' and 'set x2tics...' commands. I would like to make the gridlines emanating from the tics on x and x2 of different color. Does anybody know how I can accomplish this? Thanks in advance for any help. -Mike -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Gridlines-of-different-color-tp18019576p18019576.html Sent from the Gnuplot - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Dear goffart,
I would try adjust both ranges to a symmetrical positive / negative range,
otherwise I cannot see how to get where you want to get to:
set yrange [-100:100]
set y2range [ -1:1]
will give you the same "zero" in "graph" coordinates. But how can you expect
the position of "zero" to be identical given that one range starts at zero
whereas the other range starts at -100?
Say, Y = [ y_1:y_2 ] be the range of y-values you use, Y2 = [ y2_1:y2_2 ] be
the range of y2-values you use, then "0" will be at the same "graph" position
if:
- 0 is within y_1, y_2 and y2_1, y2_2, respectively and
- y_2/y_1 = y2_2/y2_1
hope this helps,
or I got you entirely wrong,
take care
Dieter Jurzitza

If it fails in your case, it must have something to do with how exactly you set things up. It'll be impossible to say more without you showing a reproducible example. For starters gnuplot> set multiplot layout 2,2 multiplot> splot x multiplot> splot y multiplot> splot x*y multiplot> splot sin(x)+y multiplot> unset multiplot works just fine here, in gnuplot-4.2 pl 3. |

Hi, I plot several similar plots, include them separatly in LaTeX and would like to put the key into the caption of the figure. The question: Is it possible to output only the key in gnuplot without the actual graph? Thanks, Roman |

some remarks: there's no need to specify xrange in seconds, use the time format of the data instead: #set timefmt "%s" #set xrange ["1206853200":] set timefmt "%B %d %Y" set xrange ["April 1 2008":*] your xtics are far off the axis range - all at the position of "January 01 2000" (insert a 'show xrange' line into your current script file and you will see it). this works: set xtics ( "7.1.0 Release" "April 7 2008" ,"April 14 2008","April 21 2008","April 28 2008","May 5 2008","May 13 2008","May 20 2008","May 27 2008","June 3 2008") even when plotting time data each string separated by space, tab, ... counts, that means that for a data file like this April 7 2008, 15, 61, -24, 0, 0, 0, 0 plotting the 2nd value (here: '15') vs. time needs a command like this: plot .... us 1:4 and not 'us 1:2' with the above changes i got a nice plot using the following command: plot "/tmp/condor-nmiplots-cYynkG.data" using 1:5 with boxes ls 5 title "Good Downloads", "" using 1:4 with boxes ls 9 title "Good Source Downloads", "" using 1:6 with boxes ls 7 title "Bad Downloads", "" using 1:7 with boxes ls 3 title "Good Downloads/20", "" using 1:8 with boxes ls 8 title "Bad Downloads/20", "" using 1:9 with boxes ls 1 title "Good Downloads/200", "" using 1:10 with boxes ls 2 title "Bad Downloads/200" more information you will get when reading the manual or the output of the commands: help timefmt help time/date help xtics help datafile -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/Can%27t-get-labeling-via-xtics-to-work-tp17656272p17664963.html Sent from the Gnuplot - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Dear all, Please, if someone could tell me if it is possible to make a multiplot that consist of several graphs obtained with splot command. In practice I need several basically 2d plots on the same page, but each of which are splots with no surface options, that is just contours. When I try with usual multiplot procedure with set size x,y I obtain 2 graphs on 2 pages instead 2 graphs on 1 page. Is the problem coming from the fact that I am not able to define z dimension of the graph as being 0? Thank you very, very much in ad¬vanc, Best regards, Tatjana |

Gentlemen, Thank you very much for your wonderful gnuplot program. Is it possible to set xtics and ytics to exactly the same lengths say a cm. or inch, and then make a print of it without any compressions or elongations? The "set square" command doesn't seem to work. Thanks, Mike Libby NYC _________________________________________________________________ Make every e-mail and IM count. maybe you should choose another filename for the
output file, other than the name of the input file...
