hi, This is Suman from Univ of Miami .. I have been Gnuplot since 2 years now. It's just great to use. But right now, I am need to combine two plots together whose x-coordinate scale factor is the same but not the y-coordinate. I used the multiplot command to do this and since I needed to change the font also for some labels and titles, I used the enhanced terminal type. Now I want to put a label as "~" at the end points of the two figures separating y-scales(or we can say between the two figures on the y-axis) to show the change of scale but I am not able to do so. When I do not use the terminal type "enhanced", the "~" label works but when I use it along with this terminal, I don't see my figures at all except the lower figures bounding box and the x and y scales .. I believe there is some font problem probably but I do not know what exactly it it. So please can you help me in this?? I will be very thankful to you. I was thinking of creating a 3D surface with 9 regions that will be based on just one column. So, 1 entry in the column will correspond to 1 region on the surface wherein the intensity/amplitude/level will depend on the given value. Hello everyone I have to use table terminal mode to recover the coordinates from a plotted function with decreasing X. Maybe I don't understand the syntax right, but in priciple I get the plot to work when I do $ set view map $ set xrange [60:200] $ set yrange [0:300] $ set cbrange [0:200] $ splot "radET1.hdat" u 1:2:4 w image This gives me a projection of my data to the xy-plane. Now, what I like to do is to exclude points in column 4 which are zero, since in my plot they have no physical meaning and should not be included in the pm3d coloring. Therefore I thought something like $ splot "radET1.hdat" u 1:2:( $4==0 ? 1/0 : 4 ) w image would do the trick, but doesn't. It always gives errors like "GNUPLOT (plot_image): Image grid must be at least 2 x 2" or "GNUPLOT (plot_image): Visible pixel grid has a scan line shorter than previous scan lines" Mabe it isn't even possible to exclude points from grid data like this? Any clues?? Dear Robert,
you have to use gnuplot 4.3 from CVS in order to make this work (if there is a
precompiled M$-binary, what I do not know).
The only other alternative for now is opensuse 11.0 because the version of
gnuplot that is shipped with it has been patched to work as you'd expect it
to.

However, if I do set terminal png font arialuni plot 'file' using 2:3:1 with labels the correct font is used, but the UTF-8 file seems to be interpreted as ISO- Latin-1 or whatever the default setting is (e.g. inverted e's turn to an accented E). I tried to do set encoding utf8 but I was told by the terminal that it was expecting one of 'default', 'iso_8859_1', 'iso_8859_2', 'iso_8859_15', 'cp437', 'cp850', 'cp852', 'koi8r', 'koi8u' Is there any way to add UTF-8? Or any other way to get my IPA symbols onto the plot? Robert |

The attached patch achieves the speedup and works
properly with mousevariables.dem.
The use of __CYGWIN__ makes it specific to that platform.
I suspect this would also help other platforms.
Please consider for upstream inclusion.

Hi All, I want to draw two dimensional plot of Yield Surface in Deviatoric Plane or pi plane.It is easier to plot in 2 dimensional plane by Excel easily.But facing problem to draw in deviatoric plane. Any idea will be appreciatable. Regards, Rana |
