    Brainstorm Network

Software to organize a brainstorm as a complex network.

This project aims to organize a brainstorm or a bibliographic revision in a network (graph). With this organization the users are able to visualize the main points of the brainstorm (the hubs in the network). Moreover, they can access the information through the rede, interactively, clicking on the edges or nodes! All information is associated with a reference list (imported from a bibtex file). This project uses Python, Web2py, MariaDB and VIS.js (D3.js).

    BriCS

SaaS for running simulation models in the cloud

The Bristol Cloud Service simulation runner is a cloud computing Software as a Service designed to enable users to quickly launch simulation code on Amazon AWS' Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). BRiCS is written in Python using the Django framework and interacts with EC2 using the boto API. BriCS enables multiple simulation runs to be launched in parallel from a web browser. Model configuration (parameters) files are uploaded via the browser and results files are downloadable on completion. BriCS enables researchers with software simulation models to access the rapid scale out opportunities of the cloud. Why wait days or weeks for a series of trials to complete when you can run them in parallel in the time it takes to complete one?

    CDPOPgui

    GUI Frontend for CDPOP

CDPOPgui is a GUI Frontend for CDPOP What is CDPOP? CDPOP (Cost Distance POPulations) is a spatially-explicit simulator of gene-flow in complex landscapes to explain observed population responses and provide a foundation for landscape genetics. The program implements individual-based population modeling with Mendelian inheritance on a resistant landscape. Simulation begins with an initial homogeneous population and followed by divergence through time as functions of individual based movement, breeding and dispersal on a continuous cost surface. Acknowledgements Allen Warren developed the GUI.The citation for this program is: Landguth EL, Cushman SA (2010) CDPOP: A spatially-explicit cost distance population genetics program. Mol. Ecol. Res. 10, 156-161. Updates to the software, including natural selection, can be referenced with Landguth EL, Cushman SA, Johnson NA (2012) Simulating natural selection in landscape genetics. CDSbank

    multi-sequence extraction, filtering & formatting

CDSbank is a database that stores both the protein-coding DNA sequence (CDS) and amino acid sequence for each protein annotated in Genbank. CDSbank also stores Genbank feature annotation, a flag to indicate incomplete 5’ and 3’ ends, full taxonomic data, and a heuristic to rank the scientific interest of a species. This rich information allows fully automated data set preparation with a level of sophistication that meets or exceeds manual processing. Defaults ensure ease of use for typical scenarios while allowing great flexibility when needed. Access is via a free web service at http://hazeslab.med.ualberta.ca/CDSbank/. SourceForge code can be used to build a local installation.
