About

Serpent is a Salesforce DevOps platform that removes bottlenecks and accelerates release cycles for Salesforce teams. Its task-based workflow gives a simple, visual interface that needs no Git expertise, so teams can plan, track and deploy features and fixes confidently. Org management is streamlined with instant access to scratch orgs, sandboxes and production environments. Serpent automates deployments of metadata and data in one flow, removing the need for complex scripts or command line tools, and includes built-in version control, audit trails and rollback. It also runs a native MCP server, so AI clients such as Claude and Cursor can plan deploys and open pull requests. Used by 60+ Salesforce teams. Serpent is built by Tekunda (tekunda.com), a Salesforce consulting, ISV and PDO partner that runs Serpent on its own client engagements.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Workflow automation for incident response is a strength of PagerDuty. Teams are able to effectively manage and swiftly address issues because to the centralization of notifications from many monitoring solutions.
  • Collaboration with incident response is a major plus and the ability to use it with other integrations makes it fairly easy to handle incidents and other issues. The dashboard is also really good, it’s also nice you can use it with a mobile app which can be fairly useful when on the go.
  • Great tools to utilize fast and efficient notifications & alert services for businesses and teams.
  • Very beginner friendly as I can set up schedules and notifications are always right on time. The Analytics tools are my favourite.
  • Makes decisions easier. Implementation of tools. The program also improved work performance. On-call schedules can be easily set up and integrated with other products and services thanks to the UX.

Cons

  • Effective PagerDuty implementation could need some onboarding and training, especially for teams unfamiliar with incident response solutions. It is necessary for users to become acquainted with the capabilities and configuration choices of the platform.
  • Can be fairly complex to set up, you’d likely need some technical knowledge using it day to day. The UI can sometimes be an issue with its complexity, and documentation can sometimes be an issue as well.
  • Drawbacks can be confusing user interface initially when navigating product.
  • Haven't encountered any problems so far since using this software.
  • Trying to determine what happened and where pd is can be confusing. For new users, the learning curve can be somewhat challenging since the settings are generally flexible and easy to configure.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • One-click deployments with rollback options, Supports both scratch orgs and persistent orgs (sandboxes, production), affordable prices
  • Serpent has fundamentally improved the way our Salesforce team handles releases. Before Serpent, we were stuck in a cycle of manual deployments, unpredictable change sets, and fragmented tools. Since adopting Serpent, we’ve standardised our release process using its GitFlow-native interface, allowing developers and admins to collaborate in a much cleaner, more scalable way. We especially appreciate the task-based workflow — it creates a shared source of truth between product, dev, and QA. Features like one-click deploys, rollback, sandbox pooling, and metadata + data deployments have saved us hours each week. The UI is clean and intuitive, even for non-developers on our team. Having Git metadata linked to builds, and visual build timelines, gives us full transparency across environments.
  • great ui/ux design/ great user flow/ great features/ ease of use/ helps user starts a project easily connects with GitHub
  • Serpent brings everyone into the release process—whether you're writing code or not. It makes collaboration easy without relying on complex tooling or command-line expertise.

Cons

  • It’s a relatively new tool, so it doesn’t have the same community size
  • UX still evolving — while the core flows are solid, some areas could benefit from better visual hierarchy and contextual help. Limited free trial
  • some user experience needs to be enhanced to be better
  • Serpent is still growing its ecosystem, so while it covers the essentials well, you might not find the same level of third-party integrations or community resources you’d expect from more established platforms.
