Elecard Boro Product Features

IPTV Monitoring

Elecard Boro is a dedicated, software-based IPTV monitoring solution designed to ensure high-quality live TV distribution across IPTV and OTT operator networks. Operating on a scalable client-server architecture, Boro deploys probe instances across multicast IP networks and OTT edge points to continuously analyze hundreds of SPTS and MPTS channels in real time. The platform tracks critical IPTV metrics, including (but not limited to) Transport Stream syntax, ETSI TR 101 290 priorities, SCTE-35 ad insertion markers, and HLS/MPEG-DASH manifest integrity. Featuring a centralized web interface, real-time bitrate graphs, and multi-user access management, Boro gives IPTV engineers full control over headends and delivery legs. Automated alerts notify NOC teams instantly upon signal loss, PID drops, or stream freezing, ensuring high service availability, streamlined subscriber QoE, and seamless integration into automated workflows via API.

Network Monitoring

Elecard Boro is a professional, client-server software solution for real-time network monitoring across distributed media delivery infrastructures. It enables broadcast engineers, operators, and network operations centers (NOCs) to maintain continuous visibility over multi-segment networks, including edge nodes, headends, and cloud environments. By deploying lightweight software probes across local and remote points, Boro collects real-time stream metrics, measures network performance, and instantly detects signal drops, packet loss, and transmission anomalies. Automated alerts, intuitive web console, and detailed analytical dashboards help engineers simplify network diagnostics and reduce downtime. With support for major transport protocols (SRT, UDP, RTP, HLS, DASH) and flexible API integration into existing management pipelines, Elecard Boro ensures reliable end-to-end network health monitoring for IPTV, OTT, and digital TV networks of any scale.

Network Troubleshooting

Elecard Boro is an engineering-grade software solution built for fast root-cause analysis and real-time troubleshooting across video transport networks. Boro is designed to accelerate incident response in complex broadcast and OTT environments: it deploys distributed software probes that continuously analyze live streams for packet loss, jitter, buffer underflows, and protocol errors. When stream degradation or outages occur, the system pinpoints the exact network segment at fault, minimizing mean time to repair (MTTR). Comprehensive error logging, EBU R 128 loudness charts, timestamp gap indicators, and frame thumbnail histories provide complete visual evidence for rapid diagnostics. Supporting SRT, UDP, RTP, HLS, and MPEG-DASH, Boro automates failure notification via webhooks, email, and SNMP traps. Elecard Boro empowers NOC and engineering teams to isolate transport issues, verify redundancy failovers, and maintain uninterrupted content delivery.

QoE/QoS Monitoring

Elecard Boro is an advanced software platform designed for simultaneous Quality of Service (QoS) and Quality of Experience (QoE) monitoring across OTT and digital television networks. By auditing both video transport parameters and actual user-perceived video quality, Boro helps video providers deliver stable streams and meet high quality standards. The system monitors key QoS metrics, such as bitrates, TR 101 290 errors, packet loss, and stream continuity, alongside QoE factors including silence, freeze frames, black screens, and audio loudness compliance (EBU R 128 / ATSC A/85). With customizable test profiles, interactive analytics dashboards, and automated alert systems, engineering teams can detect visual degradation before it impacts viewers. Deployable on-premise or in private clouds, Elecard Boro delivers actionable insights, automated reporting (PDF/CSV/JSON), and full API control for end-to-end quality assurance.

    "Enhanced Monitoring Efficiency"

    Edited 2023-10-10

Pros: The Elecard Boro Probes significantly boost situational awareness by enabling real-time monitoring of numerous feeds simultaneously. This holistic view allows for a quick overview of all probes, making it easy to identify and delve into the ones exhibiting issues. The email alerting feature is particularly beneficial, as it swiftly draws attention to any problems, ensuring that prompt action is taken to resolve them. This level of immediate awareness and responsiveness is invaluable in maintaining high operational standards and ensuring the continuous delivery of high-quality broadcast content.

Cons: Historically, a notable downside has been the absence of an API, which posed some limitations in integrating with other systems. However, with the advent of the latest versions, an API is being introduced which is a significant improvement. Another area with room for enhancement is the reassignment of probes between projects. A more flexible reassignment feature would simplify management and improve usability, especially in dynamic environments where projects evolve rapidly.

Overall: Boro Probes offer an efficient solution for monitoring broadcast feeds in real-time. Their robust monitoring capabilities allow for immediate detection of issues such as packet loss or video freezing, which is crucial in ensuring smooth broadcast operations. The system's alerting feature is invaluable, providing timely notifications that enable rapid response to any arising problems, thus significantly enhancing operational efficiency.

It makes an attractive choice for the broadcast industry. By providing a fast and reliable monitoring solution, they help in maintaining high-quality broadcasts and contribute to reducing operational costs by minimizing the downtime and resources required to troubleshoot issues.

"A Game-Changer in Live Broadcast Distributed Monitoring"

    Posted 2023-09-22

Pros: I am thrilled to share how essential continuous monitoring is for live sporting events. Distributed monitoring is incredibly effective for overseeing signals at the network's border and handing them over to clients. With increased insight into the performance analysis of our transport streams, our TOC team uses the system 24/7 to monitor IP Transport streams (UDP and RTP); from time to time, we also direct SRT monitoring.

The probe functionality allows quick identification of specific events and their root causes through event search and root cause identification, which is critical in live broadcasting.

One of the standout features is the ease with which new probes can be deployed. This flexibility is particularly advantageous for global networks and the events we work on worldwide, allowing for quick and efficient scaling of monitoring capabilities.

The Elecard team provides prompt and helpful support, ensuring smooth operations at all times - from server selection to installation settings.

Cons: The absence of a built-in multiviewer is the only downside. However, its inclusion would significantly increase the hardware requirements.

Overall: Our 24/7 monitoring services are unparalleled, ensuring peace of mind for all involved parties. Trust me, this product is a game-changer.
Its user-friendly interface, affordable capital(Low-cost servers) operational expenditures, and advanced analytics make it a valuable asset for any broadcasting organization. The software's functionalities cater perfectly to real-time, high-pressure broadcasting requirements, ensuring that it is a dependable option for our team.

    "OTT service monitoring"

    Posted 2023-08-28

Pros: Easy to setup, good support and competitive business model.
    SSO integration for access control.
The only cost effective solution we found to monitor all our streams in HLS + Dash, Encrypted + FTA, at six different steps in our workflow.

Cons: Could be more precise in terms of alarm management (it raises them even for non critical issues).
Need to add a proxy for stream access control management.

Overall: We use the probes to monitor our HLS and Dash streams at each step of the delivery process: Packager/CDN Shield/All our CDNs.
We use the UI during big events and have linked them to PagerDuty for everyday monitoring.
