It begins with preparation for troubleshooting, covering mechanical refrigeration systems, essential knowledge for troubleshooters, safety precautions for mechanical, electrical, chemical, and environmental hazards, necessary tools and supplies, and the importance of human relations skills. The course then details a six-step troubleshooting procedure, highlighting the significance of collecting information from equipment operators, utilizing nameplate and operations log data, employing troubleshooting charts, setting up preliminary checklists, and selecting components and subsystems for examination. It also addresses troubleshooting electric controls, including the use of flowcharts, checking contactors, identifying faulty coils, and differentiating between control and motor circuit failures.
