Hello, I'm sure you've gotten this question a hundred times already. but let me ask it anyway: will WirelessDriver ever be compatible with Mac OS 10.2 and if so about when? I'm on the verge of upgrading but don't want to lose my wireless dsl connection and mess up my work flow! BTW, your driver works great on my Wallstreet in 10.1.5. Thanks for providing this lifesaver! Cheers, Gerald Figal |

OK I got the driver installed with help from Robert Hamman. Anyway, anytime I reboot I get this message saying that an extension I am using may cause a security problem. The options I am getting are "Fix and Use" "Use" and "Don't Use." I have been clicking "use" and all is well. Should I be clicking "Fix and use"? -- David W. Then when I went back to 10 it was fine. There was a problem with sleep (supposed to be fixed in 10.2) and an open source fix was the ticket for me. I can't see the card in the network panel, it doesn't show up as an option. I tried installing with the card in and with it out, rebooting, waking from sleep? Not sure what the problem is? Also the card has a green LED that does light up when inserted, so I'm assuming it's plugged in properly. Thanks for any help offered. ...on my Lombard PowerBook with a Silver Orinoco card. I upgraded to 10.2 and applied the previously-posted tweaks to my already-installed driver, restarted, and it worked fine. In addition, there's now a PC card icon in the menu bar which correctly identifies the card as a Lucent Wavelan/IEEE, and offers me the option of "Power off Card". I tried it, and was able to pull the card, run my network off my wired connection, reinsert the card, pull the wire, and, after returning to the WirelessDriver control panel, return to wireless connectivity. Yow! Major win, guys. Thanks very much. Jim Miller |

After installing the wireless driver, which worked great with my Dlink DWL-650, my Wallstreet G3 (10.1.5) now wakes up with the backlight off. If I look closely, I can dimly see graphics on the screen, but only items that would normally be white. I have to force poweroff and reboot to use it now. Tried the following without success: Put Pbook to sleep, remove WLAN card, woke pbook. Reset PMU, put Pbook to sleep, woke pbook. Booted without WLAN card, put Pbook to sleep, woke pbook. Uninstalled Wireless driver, put Pbook to sleep, woke pbook. Reinstalled OS X 10.1.5 update, put Pbook to sleep, woke pbook. Everything was working fine before I installed the driver, it is the only variable that changed. It seems like this was a problem on Wallstreets with earlier verions of OS X, I'm wondering if a component of the wireless driver has caused this bug to start occuring on my Wallstreet. Any files that get replaced? Or system configuration options chanaged? Any chance of this being looked into? My powerbook is pretty much useless if I have to reboot it every time it goes to sleep. Since it looked like I wouldn't be able to use the D-Link 650+ in the near future, I bought a Linksys WPC-11. WirelessDriver worked perfectly. In fact, it discovered the SSID of our corporate network by itself. My Windows-using colleagues were surprised at how quickly I got wireless networking up and running. I have two comments. After installing the driver and restarting my PowerBook, it sat there for at least 5 minutes with the "Happy Mac" before actively booting up. I hope that was a one-time occurrence. I do have a small feature request. When I brought the PowerBook home, it wouldn't recognize the network until I manually changed the SSID to the name of my home network. It would be nice if the SSID could be tied to locations or if there were an option to force the card to look for a new network. Thanks for all of the effort you've put into writing WirelessDriver and for making it available to everyone as freeware. Jon |

I setup the driver under Jaguar, and it works without WEP, but it doesn't work with WEP. I ran the troubleshooting script and here are the results. No problem installing the driver on my Wallstreet PB (w BlueChip G4 500) running OS 10.1.5 and an Orinoco gold card. The Wireless Config pane shows that I'm getting a signal from my snow AirPort BUT I can't actually connect to the Internet. In the Wireless Config Network Configuration panel, I checked "Use WEP encryption" and initially entered the Hex key as explained in the FAQ"--at which point the rest of my network Macs lost their connection to the AirPort. I haven't been able to see the AirPort on those machines since, despite the standard reboot of DSL router, AirPort and Macs (in that order). Back on the Wallstreet PB, I still get a signal inside the Wireless Config Network Configuration panel. I figured I'd messed up the WEP password, so used AirPort Admin Utility to reach the AirPort and reset the password. The AirPort showed up there and restarted as it was supposed to. BUT at that point the AirPort disappeared from the AirPort Admin Utility's Select Base Station panel--and doesn't appear even when I hit Rescan. Signal still shows in Wireless Config Network Configuration panel but clearly I'm missing a step somewhere here. Any clues appreciated. A great tool--if I can just bridge the last meter. Nolan |

Interesting to note that the message previously posted about getting the driver to work with jaguar, I tried that and it worked perfectly. Seems that 10.2 has also solved the kernel panic when the card is removed while the computer is awake. I=B9ve now removed the card many times over the past few days and NOT a problem. Under 10.1.5 even if the card was removed in sleep....when the computer wok= e it would be unbelieveably slow, forcing a restart. This is NOT the case now. AND it even puts a cute little icon in the menu bar allowing the card to be powered off! Definitely worth the $128! ________________________________________________________ "Is there a village somewhere that needs its idiot back?" -Anne Robinson, Weakest Link > Vamphyre (http://vamphyre.webhop.org) ICQ: 48099343 AIM: Darkvamphyre Yahoo: Vamphyre_71 > BAD kitty (http://badkitty.webhop.org) Yahoo: the_blackrose2000 AIM: blckrs822002 Founder of The Rennisance Network (http://rennisance.webhop.org) Gothic Angel Productions |

FYI: I followed Rob's directions and I'm now up on 10.2. Btw, I had to edit the Info.plist before I could run kextload (kextload barfed if I didn't do that).
