Hi, Try the commands: cvs -d:pserver:ano...@cv...:/cvsroot/wirelessdriver login cvs -z3 -d:pserver:ano...@cv...:/cvsroot/wirelessdriver co -P modulename These came from the sourceforge CVS page under the WirelessDriver site. Hope this helps, Rob Java Nut wrote: > These commands from the FAQ no longer seem to work - my connection to > the CVS times out during the login after I hit return to put a blank > password: > > cvs > -d:pserver:ano...@cv...:/cvsroot/wirelessdriver > login > cvs -z3 > -d:pserver:ano...@cv...:/cvsroot/wirelessdriver > co WirelessDriver > > The output I get for the first command is: > > (Logging in to ano...@cv...) > CVS password: > cvs [login aborted]: connect to > cvs.wirelessdriver.sourceforge.net:2401 failed: Operation timed out > > How do I checkout the latest source these days? > > Thanks. > > > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by: NEC IT Guy Games. These commands from the FAQ no longer seem to work - my connection to the CVS times out during the login after I hit return to put a blank password: cvs -d:pserver:ano...@cv...:/cvsroot/wirelessdriver login cvs -z3 -d:pserver:ano...@cv...:/cvsroot/wirelessdriver co WirelessDriver The output I get for the first command is: (Logging in to ano...@cv...) CVS password: cvs [login aborted]: connect to cvs.wirelessdriver.sourceforge.net:2401 failed: Operation timed out How do I checkout the latest source these days? Thanks. |

Hi All, I finally got around to figuring out how to update the CVS and release files on Sourceforge, and so was able to get beta 6 for Tiger set up there. Please note: This version is for Tiger, not any OS prior to that. The URL for the download is: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=34453 I hope this helps some who were unable to compile the source previously. This is a beta release, and probably has bugs. It works for me on one out of two powerbooks I have Tiger on. If you have difficulties, I would like to hear what the problems were, and any fixes you have as well. Hi. Any ideas? I'd been using this driver for some time and it was glorious, and then switched out cards (was absent any card for a week or two; in that time we ran DiskWarrior, if that's relevant)-- switched from oh. . . I can't recall but the new one is Netgear MA401RA. Machine is a powerbook G4 running 10.2.8. The en2 and en3 (that's what we had) network port options are now greyed-out. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 112 times (build 5.1b) and made sure things are installed and where they should be. The preference pane seems to be auto-installed in /System/Library/Prefpanes but the troubleshooter looks for it in /Library/prefpanes; I've tried both and changed them to admin from wheel and now I have a copy in each spot in case (so now I two preference panes in prefs). The computer 'sees' the card-- I get the icon in the menu bar. I have deleted the kextcache and all that several times. I have pleaded with the Gods. Card family thing seems up to date (33 0 0x1c5b5000 0x2 1000 0x20000 com.apple.iokit.IOPCCardFamily (1.4.0)) What next? Only trouble is that KisMAC can't seem to unload the driver correctly thus I can't use the program to sniff for SSID's anymore. Hopefully this will be resolved in the next version of KisMAC. Also, is the MAC-spoof patch working on this new version, or is it patched by default now? If not, how do I patch it and then how do I change the MAC address for the Orinoco-card? (I guess I still can't change the MAC address for other network interfaces in my powerbook since this would require a Kernel-patch?) Hi, I'm pretty new, but I just bought a D-Link DWL-122 802.11b USB stick, and the drivers i've found, even the latest ones from D-Link's international site don't work very well with my box which is running 10.3.9, any ideas or past experiences? BTW, by not very well, I mean that it does occasionally work, but will cause my computer to crash randomly, but normally about 30-45 minutes after a semi-stable connection. Oh, I don't know if this is related to it or not, but for the 30-45 minutes that I can get it to work, I can't seem to get SMB connections going, and this is even after a few freshinstalls and different configs, whereas my iBook with the built-in Airport can do SMB transfers just fine. BTW, i'm getting annoyed to the point where I've been trying to have the iBook share it's airport connection to it's ethernet port, but I can't seem to make that work, even after searching macosxhints.com etc...., thanks! cheers! -travis __________________________________ Yahoo! Thanks for your continued work on this project! I look forward to downloading the latest code? One question - Will either the Mac Address patch posted on source forge, or the Wireless MAC application with KisMac be useable in Tiger? Or does Tiger now support a full ifconfig command to change the MAC address? Are there any improvements such as WEP support, or is this release only a tiger compatibility fix? >Hi All, > >Mick Rossberg has helped me to get the WirelessDriver going on Tiger. I'm curious as to whether or not Tiger will be supported. I was saved by this driver when my internal wireless card died on my Powerbook (which is still using 10.1.5) and now that I've decided to make the jump to 10.4...I'm left having to take apart my laptop if I want to retain wireless functionality. Although, if 10.4 will soon be supported by this driver, I'll hold off on upgrading and ripping the laptop apart. Thanks!! Frank |

The last digest I received was number 628 dated April 6. I noticed this because I received a reply (which did not answer my questions) to a recent post that was cc'd to me and the digest, but no digest, not even the one containing my recent post. I then looked in the archives as sourceforge, and found several recent messsages from April and May, including my post, but the reply to my post was not there. I find that the archive on sourceforge seems to drop messages and is not complete in my experience. So, can someone email me all digests numbered higher than 628? Also, I checked my list options, and do not see why my digest delivery would be suspended. The option Disable mail delivery is turned off. Any advice? PLEASE CARBON COPY ME DIRECTLY ON ANY REPLY - MY DIGESTS ARE NOT COMING NOW! |

Hi, I don't have Tiger yet. (It was delayed until May 3 for some reason.) =20= Have you tried rebuilding the project in Tiger using Xcode 2? The trhoubleshooting script returned the following: Last login: Sat Apr 2 16:23:59 on console /Users/andypressman/Desktop/Troubleshooting\ Info.command; exit [Andy-Pressmans-Computer:~] andypressman% /Users/andypressman/Desktop/Troubleshooting\ Info.command; exit ### kext versions Index Refs Address Size Wired Name (Version) <Linked Against> 24 1 0xe798000 0x21000 0x20000 com.apple.iokit.IOPCCardFamily (1.4.0) Index Refs Address Size Wired Name (Version) <Linked Against> ### system info ProductName: Mac OS X ProductVersion: 10.2.8 BuildVersion: 6R73 Darwin Andy-Pressmans-Computer.local. 6.8 Darwin Kernel Version 6.8: Wed Sep 10 15:20:55 PDT 2003; root:xnu/xnu-344.49.obj~2/RELEASE_PPC Power Macintosh powerpc ppc750 /bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin ### wireless driver files installed /Users/andypressman/Desktop/Troubleshooting Info.command: grep: command not found /Users/andypressman/Desktop/Troubleshooting Info.command: grep: command not found /Users/andypressman/Desktop/Troubleshooting Info.command: grep: command not found /Users/andypressman/Desktop/Troubleshooting Info.command: grep: command not found /Users/andypressman/Desktop/Troubleshooting Info.command: grep: command not found /bin/ls: /Library/PreferencePanes: No such file or directory /Users/andypressman/Desktop/Troubleshooting Info.command: grep: command not found /Users/andypressman/Desktop/Troubleshooting Info.command: grep: command not found /bin/ls: /usr/local/bin: No such file or directory /Users/andypressman/Desktop/Troubleshooting Info.command: /usr/bin/defaults: No such file or directory /Users/andypressman/Desktop/Troubleshooting Info.command: grep: command not found /Users/andypressman/Desktop/Troubleshooting Info.command: /usr/bin/defaults: No such file or directory /Users/andypressman/Desktop/Troubleshooting Info.command: grep: command not found ### wirelesscard info /Users/andypressman/Desktop/Troubleshooting Info.command: grep: command not found /Users/andypressman/Desktop/Troubleshooting Info.command: grep: command not found ### network info lo0: flags=8049<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 16384 inet6 ::1 prefixlen 128 inet6 fe80::1%lo0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x1 inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000 gif0: flags=8010<POINTOPOINT,MULTICAST> mtu 1280 stf0: flags=0<> mtu 1280 en0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet6 fe80::205:2ff:fe07:5fcf%en0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x4 inet 192.168.0.20 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.0.255 ether 00:05:02:07:5f:cf media: autoselect (10baseT/UTP <half-duplex>) status: active supported media: none autoselect 10baseT/UTP <half-duplex> 10baseT/UTP <full-duplex> 100baseTX <half-duplex> 100baseTX <full-duplex> ### wd command line tool status /Users/andypressman/Desktop/Troubleshooting Info.command: /usr/local/bin/WirelessConfig: No such file or directory logout [Process completed] |
