I have a Dell Truemobile 1150 series card and would like to let you know that 128 bit WEP is supported on this card. I noticed that you did not have that listed on the wireless driver page and did not know if it was overlooked or if anyone had previously reported this. I am running OSX 10.2.8 on a Wallstreet G3 266 (Overclocked to 300) and have not had any problems whatsoever with your driver as of yet. Thanks for all the great work as I would'nt have wireless without your driver. -- Nick Doss Computer Repair Technician Dr. Computer, LLC 334-285-2547 big...@gm... |

My mac is a 500 Mhz G3 laptop. I bought the Belkin F5D6020 as it is on the support list. When I go to ethernet config, I do not see anything for ethernet adaptor to set it up. I've installed and uninstalled, and I do see the icon for the card. Here's what I get when I run the troubleshooting scrip Last login: Mon Feb 27 13:44:15 on console Welcome to Darwin! /Volumes/NO\ NAME/Troubleshooting\ Info.command; exit Boulderama:~ User$ /Volumes/NO\ NAME/Troubleshooting\ Info.command; exit ### kext versions Index Refs Address Size Wired Name (Version) <Linked Against> 30 0 0x6da000 0x21000 0x20000 com.apple.iokit.IOPCCardFamily = ( 1.5.0) Index Refs Address Size Wired Name (Version) <Linked Against> ### system info ProductName: Mac OS X ProductVersion: 10.3.9 BuildVersion: 7W98 Darwin Boulderama.local 7.9.0 Darwin Kernel Version 7.9.0: Wed Mar 30 20:11:17 PST 2005; root:xnu/xnu-517.12.7.obj~1/RELEASE_PPC Power Macintosh powerpc ppc750 /bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin ### wireless driver files installed drwxr-xr-x 3 User wheel 102 27 Feb 13:07 SigMeter.app drwxrwxrwx 3 root wheel 102 20 Mar 2002 WirelessDriver.kext drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 5 Aug 2004 IOPCCardFamily.kext drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 5 Aug 2004 AppleAirPort.kext drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 5 Aug 2004 AppleAirPort2.kext drwxr-xr-x 3 root User 102 27 Feb 13:32 WirelessDriver PPane.prefPane ls: /usr/local/bin: No such file or directory ### wirelesscard info | | "VersionOneInfo" =3D ("Realtek","Rtl8180") ReplyForward |

Hi folks, I hope you can help me figure out what=B9s going on. My wi-fi card has been working fine for several months then one day it just stopped. My wife tried to download some game on the laptop and this is when the trouble began. Now I can sometimes get it working for a minute or two but eventually it loses the signal or both the green lights on the card start to flash together with no signal at all coming in. Is the problem with the card? The software? My router? How do I fix this? Jay |

I am having some problems with my D-Link DWL-650 on my Powerbook G3 Lombard with Mac OS X 10.1.5. The 'en1' will not include in the list of Ethernet Adaptors in the Network Preferences of the System Preferences.I ran the troubleshooting script, and to make a long stor y short, it says something about extensions and "is the card loaded?" The card is loaded, and I have uninstalled/reinstalled the WirelessDriver several times. I just bought the DWL-650, and I'm sure it is not a DWL-650+. However is is Revision P1. Is that revision compatible? What is wrong here? Thanks in advance for your help! |

Hello - I have a G3 Series PowerBook with no Airport Card installed. I would like some information about which third-party wireless cards will work in my PowerBook. I am going to be travelling and staying in a variety of hotels, which will have wireless access. I am specifically looking for something which will enable me to use my PowerBook in these situations. Any advise will be very much appreciated. Thanks. Ro |

Hi, Can anyone help me get this to work? It used to work, but not since upgrade of OS. When I open the Wirelessconfig System Pref it shows the network but no signal. When I doubleclick on the Wirelessconfig.app on my hard drive it shows some signal strength but the network still doesn't show up on the dropdown list at the top of my finder and the cards green light doesn't stop blinking (as it used to when the card worked and found a valid network). Please help. Carl |

Actually, I posted that message a few days ago and cc'd Peter Wood, who supplied me with the following link. (I guess it took a few days to get "moderated") http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=34453 Where I got the driver and installed it. Unfortunately it did not work for me. Is this wireless adapter compatible with OS X using this driver, and/or can support be added? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3D5846848084&rd=3D1&sspa= gename=3DSTRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=3D1 I will be getting some of these in and if they are not supported, but could be, I would love to help get support added. -Jesse |

Greetings, I have a PowerBook G3 Pismo running Mac OS X 10.4.3. I am trying to install a D-Link DWL-650 wireless card. I have downloaded and installed the WirelessDriver "Beta 6 For Tiger" (dated June 1, 2005). However, the card does not appear to be recognized. It powers up when inserted, but it does not show up in the Network or Wireless preference panes. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, rebooting the laptop, and removing and re-inserting the card several times, all with no effect. I have also tried adding the card's IOName pccard string to the info.plist file as described in the FAQ (the string I added is pccardb,7110): <key>everything else</key> <dict> <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key> <string>org.noncontiguous.WirelessDriver</ string> <key>IOClass</key> <string>org_noncontiguous_WirelessDriver</ string> <key>IONameMatch</key> <array> <string>pccard156,2</string> <string>pccard1eb,807</string> <string>pccard274,1613</string> <string>pccard274,1612</string> <string>pccard138,2</string> <string>pccardb,7110</string> </array> <key>IOProbeScore</key> <integer>1000</integer> <key>IOProviderClass</key> <string>IOPCCard16Device</string> </dict> This does not seem to have any effect. As best I can determine, the card I have is the DWL-650, which is reported on the FAQ as being supported, and not the DWL-650+, which is not supported. Everywhere on the box, the model number is listed as DWL-650, and there is no + sign. I have included the output of the troubleshooting script below. I'd appreciate any assistance you could lend. /Users/prw/Desktop/Expanded/Troubleshooting\ Info.command; exit Wintermute:~ prw$ /Users/prw/Desktop/Expanded/Troubleshooting\ Info.command; exit ### kext versions Index Refs Address Size Wired Name (Version) <Linked Against> 30 0 0x712000 0x20000 0x1f000 com.apple.iokit.IOPCCardFamily (1.6.1) Index Refs Address Size Wired Name (Version) <Linked Against> ### system info ProductName: Mac OS X ProductVersion: 10.4.3 BuildVersion: 8F46 Darwin Wintermute.local 8.3.0 Darwin Kernel Version 8.3.0: Mon Oct 3 20:04:04 PDT 2005; root:xnu-792.6.22.obj~2/RELEASE_PPC Power Macintosh powerpc ppc750 /sw/bin:/sw/sbin:/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/X11R6/bin ### wireless driver files installed drwxr-xr-x 3 root admin 102 Jan 2 14:16 SigMeter.app drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 Jun 2 2005 WirelessDriver.kext drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 Sep 24 2003 IOPCCardFamily.kext drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 Jul 16 13:33 AppleAirPort.kext drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 Jul 16 13:33 AppleAirPort2.kext drwxr-xr-x 3 root admin 102 May 23 2005 WirelessDriver PPane.prefPane -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 250844 May 23 2005 WirelessConfig ### wirelesscard info | | "VersionOneInfo" = ("D-Link","DWL-650 Wireless PC Card RevP$ | | +-o pccardb,7110@0,0 <class IOPCCard16Device, registered, matche$ | | "IOName" = "pccardb,7110" ### network info lo0: flags=8049<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 16384 inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000 inet6 ::1 prefixlen 128 inet6 fe80::1%lo0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x1 gif0: flags=8010<POINTOPOINT,MULTICAST> mtu 1280 stf0: flags=0<> mtu 1280 en0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet6 fe80::230:65ff:fec5:a4e2%en0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x4 inet 192.168.2.21 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.2.255 ether 00:30:65:c5:a4:e2 media: 10baseT/UTP <full-duplex> status: active supported media: none autoselect 10baseT/UTP <half-duplex> 10baseT/UTP <full-duplex> 10baseT/UTP <full-duplex,hw-loopback> 100baseTX <half-duplex> 100baseTX <full-duplex> 100baseTX <full- duplex,hw-loopback> fw0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 2030 lladdr 00:30:65:ff:fe:c5:a4:e2 media: autoselect <full-duplex> status: inactive supported media: autoselect <full-duplex> ### wd command line tool status 2006-01-02 14:35:29.777 WirelessConfig[267] Iterations: 0 WirelessDriver: Couldn't find a WirelessDriver service in registry - is the card loaded? Also no ability to chose EN1 or En2. Similar installation problems have been noted by other users. I am running 10.3.9 and using a SkyLine 11, and downloaded Wireless driver version 6. I am wondering if this driver supports WPA? I have a 15" Powerbook G4 867mhz running 10.3.9. I have a LInksys WPC54g ver 1.2 pcmcia card. I have installed the card along with the latest version of the wireless driver. At home I am using an Inexq SW054t wireless router. Everything has worked fine on this connection. At work I have a Linksys WRT 54g wireless router and am unable to log into the network although the card appears to recognize the network. The network administrator informs me that they have set the router for WPA security. Although I have options for logging in using WEP, I cannot find any settings to allow me to allow me to log into a WPA secured network. Am I doing something wrong or missing something? Thanks for your help. Terry |

I have been running the wireless driver under Panther because I could seldom get more than 2-3 bars of the four available in the little icon when running Airport, and often, the signal would just go away entirely. I downloaded the Tiger version of the driver, but when I installed Tiger on another drive for testing, I discovered the icon was peaking out at four bars and I seemed to get a very strong, reliable signal. Is this just a fluke or is Tiger better? If it is, I can probably do without the wireless driver. |

I know I read that there was a problem using the wireless driver with Tiger. Has this been resolved? If so, what do I need to do to get it running? I just bought the software, but I am concerned about upgrading if I have to rely on Airport. |

I've been having the same IP address issue=2E I'm running OS 10=2E4=2E2=2E= (Classic OS is not installed=2E) My network is open=2E=20 My Roamabout card will occassionally pick up the correct base station IP address via DHCP, and all is well while=20 that's the case=2E But shortly thereafter, it will self-assign a 169 IP address, and shortly after that the card's green light=20 goes off and there is no signal! Hello all, I was wondering if there will be drivers for Wavelan Silver for Panther, or would the current driver work on it? The FAQ does not seem to address this. Or, is there currently an alternative for drivers that work for Panther. I've searched high and low, but your drivers were the only ones I could find for free. Thanks, Michael __________________________________ Yahoo! Mail - PC Magazine Editors' Choice 2005 http://mail.yahoo.com |
