Listen, despite whatever the web page says, I can tell you after wasting all of my time, that the Belkin F5D6020 DOES NOT WORK with this driver OR the IOExperts driver OR the Aerocard Universal. How do I know? I tried all of them on my Wallstreet and my TiBook. Even though the Belkin is listed directly in both the wireless driver page AND the Aerocard page, it doesn't work with any driver on the Macintosh that I know of. I tried 3 of them. No go. The only one I got working is the Siemens Card with the IOExperts driver. Even at that, the signal meter doesn't work but the card does so I will take that at least. This is the card that works: Siemens SpeedStream Wireless PCMCIA Card (SS1021) (not CardBus) And it works withe IOExperts driver, not the free wireless driver. Oh well. Belkin, like SMC and D-link, has the irritating habit of having similar model numbers on dissimilar cards. The Belkin F5D6020 is a prism card and IS supported by the wireless driver which is the subject of this list. The Belkin F5D6020 v.2 (FCCID contains F5D6021) is an Atmel card and is not supported by the wireless driver which is the subject of this list. I have a set of drivers for the SMC 2632 v.2 and Belkin F5D6020 v.2 here: http://www.russotto.net/~russotto/atmelx.html. |

I don't mind fiddling and trying IF the card is supported (which the online web docs say it is). No matter what I did, I couldn't get en1 or en2 or anything else to show up. Here's a tip for all the driver writers. Let us know if the driver is not compatible with the card!!! Please post an alert or put in a test procedure. I spent all last night trying to follow the directions, even editing the file as described to add my card. Can anyone tell me if they have confirmed that the Belkin F5D6020 card is supported?? Sorry, got the number incorrect the first pass around. Aron |

Does the wireless driver work with the Belkin F5D6001 card? I just cannot get it to work at all with my TiBook and OS X 10.2.5. I don't get EN1 or EN2 in the network control panel. I've tried everything in the FAQ. Does this driver support the Belkin F5D6001? The web site says yes. The download does not include the Belkin in the list. Here's the name of the package I am installing: WirelessDriver Beta 5-1 Thanks, Aron -- ____________________________________________________________________ Aron Nelson - aro...@di... Dear Sir, I've used wireless card in PowerPC G4 notebook with MAC OS 10.2.1, and installed the driver from the sourceforge. I found that the wireless card was not working on, and I follow the faq statement to check kextstat status as follow: kextstat -b com.apple.iokit.IOPCCardFamily Index Refs Address Size Wired Name (Version) <Linked Against> 56 0 0xe5d7000 0x20000 0x1f000 com.apple.iokit.IOPCCardFamily (1.2.1) kextstat -b org.noncontiguous.WirelessDriver Index Refs Address Size Wired Name (Version) <Linked Against> It seems like IO registry failure. Could you tell me that's why, and how to registry it. By the way, My wireless card is atheros AR5211. Now I try to implement AR5211 chip work with this driver, and I need this driver runnable to see the /var/log/system.log information. Any suggestion or information is apprecated. Thanks very much. __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Tax Center - File online, calculators, forms, and more http://tax.yahoo.com |

I lost the connection again, but I was still able to connect to my=20 router. It said I was still connected to the internet via the cable. =20= I stopped the wireless service and restarted it and I was connected=20 again. This is strange because I was still able to use the wireless device and=20= software to access the router but not to get beyond it. I don't know=20 enough about this software to guess whether this is possible. Can=20 anybody say? If so, there may be some sort of bug with respect to my=20 NetGate wireless card. I have trouble seeing how I could reach the=20 router and not beyond, but I am certainly no expert in these matters. Bob Peirce Venetia, PA =20= 724-941-6883 rbp...@ad... [HOME (Mac)] rb...@co... This isn't exactly in this group's area, but I am hoping somebody might=20= have a lead. If my cable modem goes down, which it does from=20 time-to-time, when it comes up, I have to reset my router (NetGear=20 MR814 wireless device) by powering it down and back up. This would be=20= a minor inconvenience if it weren't for the fact the modem and the=20 router are in the attic, and I am not. I asked NetGear if there was a way their device could "sense" that the=20= line was down and do the right thing when it came back up. They said=20 no. I imagine this must be a common problem and frustration,=20 especially for people using wireless ethernet cards. Does anybody know=20= of a solution? It appears the wireless ethernet card must be configured manually for the Mac TI book. One of the entries is the DNS service. My ISP, Adelphia.net, will not provide that information, saying it is all automatic. Is there a publicly available DNS service I can use? I had the same problem with my Orinoco Gold card. Believe it or not, the en1 interface appeared after physically jiggling the card! I believe that if your en1 or en2 interfaces do not show up after a proper installation, you should remove the card with the machine on and reinsert it. The interface may then appear. Contrary to the FAQ, once the interface has appeared, and I remove and reinsert the card, I get kernel panic and have no choice but to restart the machine. hth mike On Saturday, March 29, 2003, at 10:44 AM, <tan...@co...> wrote: > Hello, > I am having trouble configuring my wireless Orinoco card. I recently bought a D-Link DWL-650 802.11b PC card, and can't get it to work. I'm running OS 10.2.4 on a 500MHz pismo (powerbook G3 firewire), and have been unable to get the EN1 or EN2 options to appear anywhere in the network prefs. I've installed the driver, restarted with the card in, ran the terminal commands from the FAQ page, then uninstalled the drivers, re-installed and tried everything all over again. The card appears in the menu bar when I insert it, so I know the hardware is at least partially functional. Is there anything I can try that might make this card work? |
