I'm trying to compare two folders that are on different drives. The folders should have the same contents, about 30,000 files each. Much to my surprise, It seems like almost all the files are returned in the comparison as left or right "Unique Items". I'm wondering if this is because they are on different drives - the left drive is "Q:\" and the right drive is "E:\". Could this be true? If so, is there a way to compare the contents of the directories discounting the drive letter? Hi, I am trying to compare two folders and I want to use one of my own prediffers, IgnoreFieldsTab_1 to 7.dll, for the file compare. I have been able to define a file filter to just list the files that I am interested in. I have given the files a spesial extention. How do I assign a prediffer to the extention so that I can override the default of "No prediffer (normal)" to mine. Thanks for any help with this. |

What's the trick to compare two excel files. It's the reason we wanted to use winmerge but I can't seem to find instructions. If I fire up the compare gui and select the two files, Winmerge displays what looks like a bunch of ASCII garbage. What's the trick? Hi, The Options dialog box provides a Filter Comments checkbox, which doesn't automatically function as required for Ada comments. The IgnoreSectionMarkers.ini file can be edited to include other languages. The section already in the ini file appears: [set0] StartMarker=/* EndMarker=*/ InlineMarker=// FileType0=java FileType1=cs FileType2=cpp FileType3=c FileType4=h FileType5=cxx FileType6=cc FileType7=js FileType8=jsl FileType9=tli FileType10=tlh FileType11=rc which defines a filter for Java, C and C++ files. To whom it may concern, I am trying to compare PDF files in winmerge but cant really use the tool for a couple of reasonings. 1. If no unpacker is used, then there is a lot of gibberish that I do not understand nor can i explain 2. If i used the unpacker that I downloaded from the web, it only populates the left side or right side but does not populate both sides with the files I am attempting to compare. I just needed to tell it to ignore line ending differences. I thought I told it to save that as the permanent setting the last time it asked me if I wanted to ignore line differences...
