Dear Team, with the tool Winmerge I wanted 2 Registry - compare text files. I got the message: The memory of the computer is not enough. My computer is running Windows 7 64 - 16GB Memory. RAM usage is according to Task Manager even to 14%. Is it possible that there exists a BUG? The text files are respectively 500 and 700 MB in size. If they are too large for a comparison? Good day, I am facing uninstallation issue with Winmerge 2.1.4..0. During uninstallation it is not removing ShellExtensionX64.dll. If I try to delete manually I get a prompt "This action cant be completed because file is open in Windows explorer". Could you please guide me how I can resolve this? Hello, I'm new to this software and installed WinMerge-2.14.0-Setup.exe (6.4 MB) <http://sourceforge.net/projects/winmerge/files/latest/download?source=files > on my XP SP 3 laptop and get this error https://www.dropbox.com/s/1295apqji20hx33/Screenshot%202014-07-31%2022.37.31 .png Do I understand correctly that I need to download one of these plugins http://sourceforge.net/projects/winmerge/files/7-zip-plugin/ ? However, which one ? Also, I'm looking to place an xls file on the left (list with all emails) and one xls file on the right (list with some emails that appeared also on the left list) to try and extract from the left list the email addresses that do not show up on the right list. Would anyone perhaps have a sample project that's correctly setup that they're willing to share so I could replace with my xls files and run it ? Thank you and best regards, Julie Julie H. Hi, I would like to help with the Portuguese translation if possible? I saw in the wiki page that you don't have any contact with the previous translator/maintainer. I'm helping with the translation of the Portuguese webpage in Transifex. Regards, Manuela Silva (alfallb_mansil) |

I've read the forum entries regarding this and posted a reply there, but it didn't get posted, or at least I can't find it, so I'm writing here: I use WinMerge to compare software builds/releases, which I keep separately in their own directories. It works great, and also I use it for merging changes in amongst my files sometimes if I want to go back to an older version of some particular code in a new build directory. I have nothing to suggest, everything I use it for works great, but with all of the capabilities there are, why can't the "Comparison result" column be displayed in RED or highlighted or something if a file is different on the folder compare results page? It is a tedious task and prone to error to look through all of the "files are identical" results to find the "files are different" results - not to mention the eye strain ;) Rolf Anderson Contract Employee Sargent Aerospace & Defense Phone: 520-744-1000 x4604 Fax: 520-744-7529 RAn...@sa...<mailto:RAn...@sa...> ______________________________________________________________________________________ The information contained herein may be confidential and proprietary and is intended only for the use of the addressee. So I used my normal Thunderbird to compose and send a message. When your reply appeared, I simply tried to reply in my usual way with other maillists, but I had to manually place the maillist address in the To: line. Now I am at a different computer and I am using Chrome to reply in the online gmail window with gmail's new in-window compose which has gigantic fonts so I can only read a part of a paragraph at a time. I normally just use whatever font is default, since I do not try to use formatting in e-mails. I think that you are right since I have release 9.20 of 7Zip. Regardless of which dll is correct, that link in the first reply took me to a page that did not show any dlls. There were only more links with names that were not familiar to me. Right now I need someone to tell me exactly where do I go and When I am on that page, what do I do next? David C |

All, I’m very happy to announce, that today we have released WinMerge 2.13.22 beta. This one has been very long in the making, it’s been more than 3 years since the last beta release. A beta release is considered ready for final release, but we just want to give developers and translators one last chance to fix any issues before the final release. The release can be downloaded from http://sourceforge.net/projects/winmerge/files/beta/2.13.22/ Translators are encouraged to try out this beta release and submit any translation updates using the usual channels described at http://winmerge.org/translations/instructions.php You have approximately 2 weeks from today, until we create the final release. Only the relative path and file name is used to find matching files. The most likely cause for it thinking they are unique is that they are only in one of the folders you've given. Are you sure they have the same directory structure and you're not accidentally selecting a sub or parent folder instead? -- Deanna Earley (de...@ea...) web: http://www.earlsoft.co.uk phone: +44 (0)780 8369596 |

Quick question. Is (or would it be) possible to reverse the order of lines, either the entire file or just the selected section ? e.g. Line 1 Line 2 Line 3 Line 4 Select all 4 lines and 'reverse' would become Line 4 Line 3 Line 2 Line 1 or, if just the 2nd and 3rd lines were originally selected, would become Line 1 Line 3 Line 2 Line 4 I am comparing a large number of text files, and for some reason the system producing them occasionally reverses the order of parts of them so winmerge shows huge blocks that are different when they are just backwards. |
