Good time of the day. I had just installed WinMerge 2.14.0 and encountered incorrect translation of "Whitespaces" word - it sounds "invisibles" when translated back to english and is strange for understanding :) I attached ZIP with modified Russian.po with much better translation and original Russian.po.backup files. You may use WinMerge to see what i had changed :) I didn't inspect all translation, only sentences that "damaged" my sight :) -- Best regards, Alexander Strumensky |

All, I’m very happy to announce, that today we have released WinMerge 2.13.22 beta. This one has been very long in the making, it’s been more than 3 years since the last beta release. A beta release is considered ready for final release, but we just want to give developers and translators one last chance to fix any issues before the final release. The release can be downloaded from http://sourceforge.net/projects/winmerge/files/beta/2.13.22/ Translators are encouraged to try out this beta release and submit any translation updates using the usual channels described at http://winmerge.org/translations/instructions.php You have approximately 2 weeks from today, until we create the final release. Regards Christian List |

Hi all, Now, I'm translating WinMerge Help document into Japanese. I probably found some mistakes, please check following: * Filter.xml:472: For example, <code>f: \.bat&</code> # I think <code>f: \.bat$</code> is correct if it's a regexp. -- * Filter.xml:680: <code>^</code> ) and end of line ( <code>&</code> ) markers to # Also, I think this part is <code>$</code> is correct. -- * Filter.xml:1176: A link "Good HOWTO for regexps", http://www.amk.ca/python, is expired./howto/regex/ Probably, it was moved to this site: http://docs.python.org/howto/regex Thank you, -- Takahiro YOSHIHARA E-Mail : tac...@gm... Hi Mone! > Now,I am trying to figure out the beginning of translation procedure. Sounds cool! If you need help, just ask questions! We have a translations area at our webpage: http://winmerge.org/translations/ There you find also a short translations instructions: http://winmerge.org/translations/instructions.php Since currently all translations use the language name, your PO file should named "Thai.po" I think. (The language code seems "ta" for the future changes.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thai_language Greetings, Tim |

Hello Abolfazl, I am not sure if the translation system from WinMerge itself understand UTF-8, since we still have a ANSI version. I convert your PO file to the 1256 codepage. Can you check, if is still correct? I create a SF.net tracker item with your PO file: http://winmerge.org/patch/2877121 Greetings, Tim |

We have now at least a "Unknown" status for the InnoSetup and ReadMe files. So people can at least see, what files are also translatable and have links to the English template files. :) http://winmerge.org/translations/status_trunk.php Greetings, Tim |

Hi all, recently there have been some changes and (I hope) improvements to translating WinMerge. All these changes are for current 1.13.x experimental releases and future 1.14.x stable releases. Change in source tree structure: All translated files are now in one Translations-folder and its subfolders. This hopefully makes it easier to find translated files. Original (English) files are in original places. ShellExtension translating: ShellExtension can be now translated using PO files. PO files aren't used while running the program but they are converted to RC files before compiling. So you can't update translation of compiled program by updating PO file like with WinMerge executable. Hex editor component/Frhed translations: WinMerge now uses hexedit component from separately installed Frhed program. This means that hexedit uses translations available and translation selected in Frhed program. Frhed program is separate SourceForge project (http://frhed.sourceforge.net/) Frhed can be translated almost similar way to how WinMerge executable is translated. It uses POT/PO files. Please note that Frhed is separate project and separate program so please submit translation updates, bug reports etc to Frhed project. WinMerge uses only hexeditor component of Frhed if Frhed is installed. Regards, Kimmo |

Hello Hans, yes the help for translators is not so good at the moment. But unfortunately I have at the moment not so many time for WinMerge like I want. So I can only do small steps in the moment. And we have unfortunately not so many help at the moment. :-( > 1) "Status (Branch)" and "Status (Trunk)" there to be changed to > "Stable (Branch)" and "Experimental (Trunk)", > since there seems to be little interest in building "Beta versions" > as can be seen in: Since "Status" is the abbreviation for "Translations Status" we can't drop the word. But what think you about "Status (Stable Branch)" and "Status (Unstable Trunk)"? In this case we have the words "Branch/Trunk" for developers and "Stable/Unstable" for end-user... > 3) [...] > is not updated from "2009-03-10" for for example "Polish" > where there were patches from "2009-03-31" for the branch and > trunk as can be seen here: Ok, I updated the status at the website. Greetings, Tim |
