imtest/telnet to 143 all the same. I can login as cyrus without a
problem. But if in configuration, I set host=localhost, username=cyrus,
password=XXXXXXX  error message as reported above. This isn't rocket
science but it isn't working.

[webmin-l] Virtualmin Bandwidth

Hi,

One of the servers I've set up in Virtualmin has some subservers which 
are aliases for the main server. Up until some time ago, the bandwidth 
usage was calculated correctly, but since some time ago the usage for 
the server and subservers is added together, so now I get false usage 
numbers.

What can I do to fix this?

Hi Craig,

I never figured out imtest.  Try a telnet to localhost on the imap port
and do ". login userid password" for cyrus and then a test ldap user
(might need an existing Cyrus mailbox).  If they work then the Cyrus
side of things is OK and it must be a problem in the LDAP Users module
config.

I get it now - you're talking about the alias field in the cyrus
configuration at the bottom of the configuration which I could never
make work in RHEL 3.x

I was able to get Net::LDAP installed on RHEL 4 (required MIME::Base64
and MD5 perl modules) and it appears to be working except I get an
error...

One possible problem could be DNS resolution. Try logging in as root via SSH, and re-starting Webmin at the command line with:

/etc/webmin/stop
/etc/webmin/start

And then re-trying the upgrade.

There are 13 root servers, but they are all listed in a single file.
This file actually comes with Webmin, or can be downloaded automatically
during the BIND module setup process.

You don't generally need to worry about re-downloading, as the root
servers very rarely change..

Usermin is configured separately .. to adjust the domain it uses, you
need to do the following :

1) Go to the Usermin Configuration module
2) Click on Usermin Module Configuration
3) Click on Read Mail
4) On the page that appears you can set the domain name for outgoing
mail, or even choose a file that maps different users to different
domains.

I setup my nameserver and i was going to put in the information to pull =
down the files needed from the TLD root server.  when i go to the root =
zone it says re-download root servers.  But how to does webmin know =
where the root servers are because i didnt tell it which of the 13 =
servers i wanted to download from nor did i give it the IP address.  Am =
i missing a step here.

I will also be adjusting Virtualmin Custom Link to match this same effect
and you will be able to still down load the older version too.

You feedback on these improvements is always welcome.

I fixed the template problem as i had not included the path!

Only thing left is should @ be replaced by testdomain.com in the
testdomain.com.hosts file or is @ some special syntax that bind uses so @ is
testdomain.com taken from the SOA header.

1 last thing the default nameserver in zone defaults , as i have all 3 of
mine in the template i have tried to find a way to switch off the Default. ?
a possible addition??

I'm  wondering if the mail alias being unique should be optional on it's
intended use.  In my setup I have postfix configured to use an
ldap-aliases file to search my LDAP directory for recipients.  The
search looks for matching mail and alias attributes and returns the
matching users uid names which correspond with their Cyrus mailbox names
so the mail can be delivered.  I just tried adding the same alias e-mail

Hi can someone help me with using bind in webmin to control my dns i have 2
sites I want to have accessible to the world and 1 site for offline interna=
l
use like a testbed for sites I'm working on.

so say sites are

onlinesite1.tld
onlinesite2.tld
offlinesite.tld

what should i set to have the effect i'm looking for? currently I use
zoneedit for my online sites dns and just edit the hosts file on
windows/linux and i'm getting tired of always having to edit it.
