Jamie, Believe it or not it did not work. I made sure that framing was enabled rather than proxying. I made sure to add http://192.168.1.6/ as the web framing and everything but it does work. The only way I could get http://dev.homesite.com/ to point at http://192.168.1.6/ was when I added a A Name. and even after that anyone outside my local network could not see http://dev.homesite.com/ Ravi. -----Original Message----- From: Jamie Cameron [mailto:jca...@we...] Sent: Wednesday, March 22, 2006 1:04 AM To: ra...@ra... Subject: RE: [webmin-l] Proxying IP Ok, that explains it .. you have the server configured to use frame forwarding rather that proxying. You need to adjust the module configuration that I mentioned, then delete that virtual server and re-create it. - Jamie On 21/Mar/2006 23:54 Ravi Gehlot wrote .. > There you go. This is a general virtualmin policy question. I am setting up a new Centos 4.2 server with webmin. Later I will host domains on this server using virtualmin & usermin My mail server of choice is Postfix. I'm about to setup *my own* mail domain. Should I first setup virtualmin and do the mail domain setup as a hosted domain? Is there any conflict after setting up a mail domain without virtualmin, and later adding virtualmin and hosted mail domains? --r |

Jaime, That's what I have and it works fine within my local network. The problem is when an outsider tries to surf the site. It doesn't work because it looks like it tries to find the private ip and can't. Ravi. -----Original Message----- From: web...@li... Jamie, I don't you remember when I asked you how to point out a subdomain in one machine with a public ip to another machine with a private ip and you said just go to virtualmin and add the subdomain plus its proxying? Hi all, I have been wrestling with a near brand new server since February. It crashes cold anywhere from 5 hours to 5 days uptime. It is likely a bug in the QUOTA system of FreeBSD 6.0, I have disabled quotas and am testing now. Should those test fail, I want to move the client to another machine that I know is OK. I would be going from FreeBSD 6.0 to FreeBSD 5.4. The filestructure and layout would be the same. The question is, do you think copying /etc/webmin and /usr/local/webmmin-1.250 from the old machine to the new machine would do the trick, strikly from a Webmin operation point of view? -Grant |

I was digging out webmin a bit this afternoon and found out that it actually keeps all backups at /var/.webmin. If no one replies to you in here then possibilities are that you are misunderstanding the workability of things or just being impatient for someone to answer. Sometimes, if this is indeed a bug, they might be already aware of it. Another thing, if you didn't pay for virtualmin's support anyone has any obligation in helping you out. Just a though. This could be a serious hazard as it keeps doing this over and over eating drive space. I'm using the VirtualMin backup and am using the SSH option to transfer to another server. The folder that was created is called "997319_2_backup.pl". This folder changes from day to day. I've also noticed that this folder is inside the folder that the files are supposed to be SSHed to. Here's an overview of what was discussed: I'm having all my files backed up to a folder on my server and I keep getting duplicate backups with what I assume are temp directories that are not getting deleted, as such: 01245748_backup.pl or some such strange thing. Some of the files that are being backed up are in both folder with the same dates, but different times. The ones in the "997319_2_backup.pl" are actually older (by 20 minutes) than the ones in the root folder. Version 1.250 and the backup is set as "Directory of archive files, one per server" |

I have been running out of space on /var when doing my backups. However I would assume that the backups need space on /tmp correct? Which is plenty now. What is going on? Ravi. |

Jamie, Is there any way around the issue I described below? I don't understand why the Firewall module works that way. At the moment, our only solution is to drop the rule entirely and recreate it, or edit iptables by hand. Thanks Dave I -----Original Message----- From: web...@li... [mailto:web...@li...] On Behalf Of Dave Isaacs Sent: Monday, March 20, 2006 3:08 PM To: 'web...@li...' Subject: RE: [webmin-l] Firewall error Looking at the code, I see that the "Reject with ICMP code" field appears for rules that are part of the chains INPUT, OUTPUT, FORWARD. The rules in question are part of a custom chain named "NFS-Input", therefore the "Reject with ICMP code" field does not appear. Dave I -----Original Message----- From: web...@li... Subject: RE: [webmin-l] Firewall error Hi Dave, You should be able to use the 'Reject with ICMP code' field to change the --reject-with option, or better still select the Default option to remove it altogether. - Jamie On 20/Mar/2006 12:58 Dave Isaacs wrote .. Actually, the problem is not *completely* beyond the scope of Webmin. Everything in our iptables file is hunky-dory until, during our upgrade process, an 'server iptables save' command is used. This command appears to append '--reject-with icmp-port-unreachable' to the end of any REJECT rules that do not have already have a --reject-with argument. Webmin, it appears, does not provide any way to edit this argument. When the rule is changed back to ACCEPT, it maintains the --reject-with argument even though it no longer applies. I guess this could be considered a Webmin bug, or maybe just a lack of functionality. Any ideas for a work-around (beyond dropping the affected rules and recreating them manually)? I have no idea where that --reject-with came from. Looking at the Webmin Action Logs, the file diffs do NOT show that being added. Looks like tehre must be a problem beyond the scope of Webmin. Perhaps I'm going blind, but I've combed through it a dozen times now. To be clear, this is the page starting with "Template name... Skeleton directory for files..."? On which part of that page do you see logrotate options? Thanks, Doug |
