No, I meant that the UseCanonicalName off has to go in the VirtualHost section on the *external* server .. - Jamie ps - You don't have to Cc these emails to me, as I get them on the list anyway. No luck Jamie. It opens if I put a forward slash at the end of it. (I can
live with it)
Here is the output for httpd.conf:
<VirtualHost 192.168.1.6:80>
ServerName 192.168.1.6
ServerAlias 192.168.1.6
DocumentRoot /home/sunshinetechsolutions/public_html
UseCanonicalName off
<Directory /home/sunshinetechsolutions/public_html>
Options Includes Indexes ExecCGI FollowSymLinks
allow from all
</Directory>
</VirtualHost>
Ravi.

Interestingly, it works if you add a / to the end.
Try adding the following the the <VirtualHost> section for this virtual
server :
UseCanonicalName off
and then restart Apache.

Installing AWSTATS (6.4) from the SuSE 10 distribution, and then the webmin module, I checked that all the paths in the module config are correct, etc. and get this when I try to get my first stats fix: Failed to save AWstats report : Failed to copy template configuration : Is it looking for something else? Playing with Apache2 configuration under Webmin, I noticed I can't get ServerTokens to be configured as I want. Can anybody else get it set to something other than "OS" (in the global.conf file)? Webmin displays it as being changed to whatever I set it.. until I choose to start Apache again, then it goes back to "Version and OS" and the actual configuration directive says "OS". Hmm.. a little bit later.. this is how SuSE handles Apache2. The files under /etc/apache2/sysconfig.d are re-created by /usr/sbin/rcapache2; the script recreates the files based on the contents of the /etc/sysconfig/apache2 file. -joho |

The reason is that this module has only been tested on Redhat systems. On that distro, the /etc/vsftpd directory contains one config file per virtual server, which makes it easy to add a new virtual FTP server. Does SuSE do the same thing? If so, then the most could be ported to it .. - Jamie |

Jamie, This worked. Whenever I type http://dev.homesite.com/mywebsite_com it goes to http://192.168.1.6 without a single problem and opens up the file index.cfm located inside of public_html on /home/homesite. Now, the problem is that inside of /home/homesite/public_html I have subdirectories for every website I host. An example goes: /home/homesite/public_html/myfirstsite_1 /home/homesite/public_html/myfirstsite_2 /home/homesite/public_html/myfirstsite_3 Whenever I type http://dev.homesite.com/myfirstsite_1 on my local network it finds index.cfm and opens up the page. However, outside of my network it can't display the page. I think this has to do with how proxying handles requests? Or just configuration on httpd.conf Ravi. -----Original Message----- From: web...@li... [mailto:web...@li...] On Behalf Of jca...@we... Sent: Thursday, March 23, 2006 12:59 AM To: web...@li... Hi Jason,
Virtualmin doesn't store plain-text passwords at all - the only passwords=
kept for mail users is in the /etc/shadow file, which are one-way encryp=
ted and can never be decrypted.
Even the backup only contains encrypted passwords from /etc/shadow, which=
are written back to that file when restoring.

Dear Webmin / Virtualmin community,
=20
We've been using Virtualmin to successfully manage our hosting process o=
n a variety of servers, we have a need to do a one time sync. of existing=
mail users in virtualmin to one of our other databases. Due to the sheer=
number of people using the service it isn't practical to request all use=
rs reset their password.
=20
We noticed that when Virtualmin does a backup of the domains it hosts it=
includes information for each mail account, along with a seemingly encry=
pted password. As Virtualmin can restore backups it seems there is alread=
y the capability for it to decrypt the password from the mail_user's file=
.
=20
We are looking for method to decrypt the password to it's original value=
, it can be an extension of Virtualmin or even a shell script.=20
=20
Any help with this task is very much appreciated.
