So looks like the Redhat 9 install missed the Authen::PAM Perl module ?
Can I install this ?

Subject: Re: [webmin-l] Webmin admin password not working on Redhat 9
On 30/Apr/2006 17:29 Aaron Gray wrote ..=20
Hi,
I have Webmin installed on two Redhat 9 servers. Both were working =
fine with version 1.250 for four months.
I have just reinstalled one server with Redhat 9 and Webmin 1.270 =
after a disk crash but the admin logon is not working.
I have just deinstalled 1.270 and reinstalled it with 1.250 but the =
logon is not working still. I have tried resetting the password too.
The only thing I can think of doing is reinstalling Redhat 9 again =
from scratch, but would rather not do that.
Any help welcome.
Aaron
Check to see what gets logged to /var/log/authlog and =
/var/webmin/miniserv.error when you try to logon. The reasons for any =
failures
should be recorded there ..

Tried deleting the user via the selection list or one user at a time and both ways it said it deleted the user but when I do a slapcat of my LDAP directory it is still there. I do get the error below in my /var/log/messages though. May 1 17:52:36 ldap in/ldap-useradmin/mass_delete_user.cgi: No worthy mechs found Murray |

Hi, I have Webmin installed on two Redhat 9 servers. Both were working fine = with version 1.250 for four months. The only thing I can think of doing is reinstalling Redhat 9 again from = scratch, but would rather not do that. Any help welcome. Aaron |

The reason I am looking to do this is slightly odd, as the problem I have when I leave it enabled is that the user gets created w/an object class of shadowAccount and then gets one attribute which is shadowLastChange. The users created this way can log into the server (if they are in the right magic groups and so on, but they cannot log into webmin itself for some reason.) Is there a reason why webmin login would balk at these users. Should additional shadow attrs be being set that are not? I wouldn't mind using the shadow features, but I'm trying to use virtualmin and need the users created to be able to login to webmin. > I've gotten it to work (slightly) by modifying the "filter" statements in > all of the perl modules .. changing them to what I wanted. -Greg -- Leah Cunningham : d416-585-9971x692 : d416-703-5977 : m416-559-6511 Frauerpower! Ah, so you are referring to the emails sent out by Webmin? Apart from the status module (which I'll fix), are there any others in which you've seen this problem? Hi, I"m trying to figure out how to get the LDAP Users's and Group's module to not set the posixAccount ObjectClass or any of the associated attributes when users are created. I've got it working by just commenting out bits of code that do the dirty work, but I was hoping someone had a way to just configure this in the module or system that I was overlooking. No, I am referring to, for example, monitor notification messages. If they include 8-bit data, Webmin doesn't notice and simply sends it out "= as is" instead of encoding it (the safest way is probably to always run it = through an encoder and let it decide). If I call a server "=C4rendehantering" (notice the =C4'=E4'), and Webmin ne= eds to notify me that a monitor on it has "gone down" or such, it'll includ= e the server name without hesitation :-) ------------------------- Ursprungligt Meddelande: Fr=E5n: Jamie Cameron <jca...@we...> Till: web...@li... It would be nice if Webmin could do proper mime encoding of 8-bit characters. Right now, it's sending them out "as-is"; which causes some (cosmetic mostly) problems with national language characters. -joho |

If you are adding a simple SPF record or are un-familiar with the format, the SPF page is best. Thanks loads Jamie, I guess these aged eyes didn't even see that icon due to the big "TXT" letters on the screen. It looks like the SPF form is quite complete. Great job!! Is it prefered that a user enters the fields in the SPF screen versus the TXT screen, or is it a matter of preference if the user knows the string to put into the TXT record? It appears either would work (providing this user knows what he is looking for after adding the record). Very grateful and feeling a little foolish.
