Because you entered an SPF report, Webmin will detect this and show it under the SPF record pseudo-type. SPF has a separate icon, like A, CNAME and MX (even though we all know it is really a TXT record :-) - Jamie On 26/Apr/2006 09:08 Steve Campbell wrote .. > You're absolutely right John! > > Thanks, > > I have since responded to myself indicating what you have posted, but > there > is still a problem whereas Webmin does not indicate any TXT records when > entered as you describe (and I have done). So, is Webmin doing what it should be doing when entering strings in the TXT field? If it is formatting a proper string for the TXT records, shouldn't it indicate a TXT record exists on the zone screen? It seems to only indicate TXT records exists when they aren't formatted properly, giving double quotes (using a single set of quotes in the text entry box, which causes two set of quotes in the zone record). You're absolutely right John! Thanks, I have since responded to myself indicating what you have posted, but there is still a problem whereas Webmin does not indicate any TXT records when entered as you describe (and I have done). This was the confusing part, I guess. OK, I figured it out. The DNS report site gave me clues, but I'm not sure why the original pasted directly into the zone and what Webmin inserted without the surrounding quotes, which are the same, indicate zero TXT records. Is there something amiss here in Webmin for TXT records. Looks to me like you copied and pasted the line from pobox with the quotes around it.. and it looks like Jamie has the dns module set to add those for you, therefore, you're seeing the escaped quotes... the /" which is trying to escape what you input. Try inputting it without the quotes. Hi all, I have a fully working domain, with email, ftp access, mysql databases and of course apache . I would like to know if is it possible to create in batch mode users to a domain with the following parameters : - user's default quota set to xxx mg ; - the user has one database , with the same name of the login (username) and with random password / or another password supplied in the batch mode Thanks , Bruno Sousa |

I'm a little confused about adding an SPF record for one of my domains. Since this has quoted text in it, I'm not sure if I am entering the text part properly. When I create the record, and copy the text part of the recommended TXT record from the form at pobox(?) into the text field, Webmin adds the '\' character at the beginning and end of the line. The original text part of the record looks like this when I added it manually to the zone file: "v=spf1 mx a:trinadad.cnpapers.net ~all" This is not recognized by Webmin The inserted record, when using Webmin to add it, appears as: "\"v=spf1 mx a:trinadad.cnpapers.net ~all\"" Are these proper and equivalent? Thanks Steve Campbell cam...@cn... Charleston Newspapers |

Sorry to do an Off Topic posting... but I do not where else to turn!!! Perhaps I can find in this list somebody to help me... somebody sympathetic with a good progressive democrat like myself ;) (the program would be implemented in the Iowa 1st District democratic convention) I'm looking for a voting tally cgi (or any kind of software)... Not a poll cgi... What I need is a voting tally that also can tell me how a particular user voted (no their IP)... this is for a political convention that states that there is no anonymous vote, and where there is a need to be able to show any delegate how he/she voted. The delegates will vote in a paper ballot. The ballot has the ballot number, the delegate number, and a grid with 15 numbers... the delegate then will cross up to three of those numbers and give the paper ballot to the "rules and nominations" page. Rules and nominations then count the ballots. What I will like to see is that then rules and nominations enter delegate number and the numbers crossed in some kind of page... and we have then not only how many votes for every candidate, but also a printout on how each delegate voted. Of course... I need this for yesterday ;) TIA Marcos again... sorry for the OT!!!! (in soooo many years... I think this is the first time I do an OT in any mailing list... at least intentionally) ps: the list of delegates with their numbers is right now in an excell datasheet, and at the convention I could use any system... I will set it up :) |

did you try clearing your browser's cache???... also... from the same box that you are denied to access Webmin.. did you try with a different browser? (if you are using a win box... try with IE, if you are in a *nix box... you always have lynx :) Cheers! Below is not for the faint of heart and for those that have some=20 knowledge of scripting. This is not a SpamAssassin system, but instead=20 scripts which will run from any 'nix server with perl. You'll need to=20 understand what is happening within at least the second script and=20 adjust paths to suit your system. Here's a script that does the actual mail deletion called rmmail.pl. -------------------------------------- #!/usr/bin/perl # print "Starting perl script"; use HTTP::Date; my $days =3D $ARGV[0]; $days =3D 30 if ! defined $days || $days < 1 ; my $mfile =3D $ARGV[1]; my $past =3D time() - $days * 24 * 60 * 60 ; my $skip =3D 0; open M , "<$mfile" || die("cant open mail file $mfile"); while(<M>){ my $line =3D $_; if( /^From / ){ chmop ; my ($f,$e,$d) =3D split(/ /,$_,3); chomp $d; $d =3D~ s/^ *//; $d =3D~ s/-\d\d\d\d$//; ### The next four commented out lines can be useful for debugging during=20 setup of these scripts. # print $d . It's always a good and noble cause to educate the ignorant ;-) But we still run a dialup connection service here and many of the users can't get past the read mail part without complicating things.
