The simple blue theme is a nice addition (as we have come to expect all additions to be).. one comment, when I click on a section, say "Webmin" on the topmost row, Webmin displays the modules in that section. But I cannot see which section I'm actually currently viewing the modules for.

Am I making sense.. ?

No, I haven't checked that out. It seems a bit overkill for what I want to =
do, but perhaps I need to look at it again. I would also like to have other=
 summary screens, like _one_ page where I can see all disk usage collected =
data be displayed, sorted per server, and then clickable/browseable, just l=
ike when I view calculated (collected) disk usage on a single server.

You need to open up ports 10000-10100 on the slave system for fast RPC to work.

Have you checked out the Cluster Software Packages module? It has a 'Compare
Servers' page for displaying the versions of all the RPMs on multiple systems,
with a view to finding mismatches..

This sounds like a bug - which modules are sending out these emails? I may not
have converted them all to do proper MIME headers..

Sounds like the rmt program is missing on either your source or destination
systems. What OS are you backing up from and to there? rmt may be in
a separate package ..

This feature uses 10-20 (possibly up to 100) TCP ports above the one
configured for Webmin.  So, if Webmin is configured to use port 10000,
you need to open ports 10000-10100 in order for the RPC feature to
work correctly (we've gotten away with only opening 10000-10020, but
haven't tried to do much with RPC to date).

We have a nearby machine that is physically close, but logically protected =
by its internal firewall. I have opened the TCP port for which I've configu=
red Webmin to use. I've also opened the machine's local firewall for UDP ca=
lls on the same port (do I need this?).

I cannot seem to get FAST RPC CALLS to work properly. What did I miss?

You might want to try clicking on the Module Config link, and adjusting the
'IPtables save file to edit' to the file path to the iptables config file
on the system. That should resolve that warning.

Hi all,

I'm using ClarkConnect Home Edition 3.2 (CentOS 4) and thought I should 
try out the Linux Firewall module to get more granular control over the 
box. I use the latest Webmin (1.290) and installed the module directly 
from webmin.com through the webmin interface.
When I then enter into the firewall module, I get this error:

'The Redhat IPtables startup script /etc/rc.d/init.d/iptables was not 
found on your system.'

Anyone knows what to do, to safely tweak this module to work with 
ClarkConnect?

Try putting something in your access.db of the form

example.com       RELAY

I seem to remember also that you need this in one of the other files also, but I
could be wrong. You can use this in many different forms, like full user email
address, domain as above, IP address.

After you add your entry, restart sendmail.

Make sure you sufficiently block everything you don't want to relay for also in
some manner.

Thanks for the explanation. Its strange as webmin seems to work through =
PAM on my other server and this one before I reinstalled it with the =
same Redhat 9 instillation as before. Very odd. Oh well I will see what =
happens when I reinstall it again when I get the new mirrored drives to =
replace the faulty one which was the cause of the reinstall in the first =
place.

  PAM is an API that programs like Webmin can use to check passwords on =
a Linux system. However, in order to use it the Perl module Authen::PAM =
must be installed, and the file /etc/pam.d/webmin must be setup =
correctly. If either of those are not working, you can get into a =
suituation where you cannot login to Webmin. Normally I can detect this =
and fall back to a different type of authentication, but it seems to be =
failing in your case.

  The changepass.pl program sets the password for the root Webmin user =
separately, which is stored in /etc/webmin/miniserv.users. Once this is =
done, PAM does not need to be used at all..

Hi Aaron,<br />PAM is an API that programs like Webmin can use to check passwords on a Linux system. However, in order to use it the Perl module Authen::PAM must be installed, and the file /etc/pam.d/webmin must be setup correctly. If either of those are not working, you can get into a suituation where you cannot login to Webmin. Normally I can detect this and fall back to a different type of authentication, but it seems to be failing in your case.<br /><br />The changepass.pl program sets the password for the root Webmin user separately, which is stored in /etc/webmin/miniserv.users. You can't really block a range, but you can enter a network in the format
130.194.64.0 to block all hosts from 130.194.64.0 to 130.194.64.255.
