Hi, Having read the discussions on FTP from this forum, I decided to download and install the WU-FTPD. Ftptd gives me every thing I ever wanted in FTP servers. So, I am suggesting that any body that needs a reliable but easy server should try it out. Also, I have installed MajorDomo and MajorCool on my computer. Webmin has configured the former very well, but I need to be able to start MajorCool which is an interface to MajorDomo. Does any body know what command I need to use to get MajorCool up and running.? Finally, although, I have installed current Java's SDK's in my system, File Manager (Webmin) still complains of Java-Plugin. Please help with any solution if possible. Greg |

Webmin tries to check if a resource is up or not by seeing if the IP address for that resource is active on the server that Webmin is running on. So if Apache is active but on a different server in the cluster, it will be shown as down .. - Jamie |

I am trying to install my first linux cluster, so perhaps (surely) I am=
doing something wrong.
Anyway, following the documentation, now I have 2 Suse Linux 10.1 runni=
ng
succesfully Hearthbit (2.0.5) for 1 Apache and Mysql resource)
I configured anything via command line ( using vi to edit ha.cf,
haresources and authkeys); then I went to see via webmin.
When I enter the Heartbit monitor, Cluster Resources, I always see my o=
nly
resource (apache2 and mysql) in DOWN status (RED)
=
=
=
=
=
=
Primary Node =
IP Addresses =
Node Services =
Resource Status =
Get Resource =
srvlnxc1 =
192.168.1.50/24/192.168.1.255 =
apache2=A0,=A0mysql =
DOWN =
=
=
=
Add a cluster resource =
=
=
=
=
=
But actually it is up on one node !!!; Moreover, If I use the get Resou=
rce
on the second node, the resource is moved to
that node (I can monitor it issuing /etc/init.d/apache2 status and seei=
ng
the output move from running to unused on one node
and viceversa on the other node)
Any ideas ?
thank you,
Andrea

I tried this out myself just now, as it seems that only Debian uses the wrong path. It really looks like a bug in the tar command (or at least Debian's package of it). I will add an option to Webmin in the next release for setting the --rmt-command flag though. - Jamie |

Greetings, I am currently using Webmin-1.290 and I installed the 'Log File Rotation' module, using the Webmin Module install function. When I click on the Webmin "Log File Rotate" icon, this error is displayed; "The log rotation program logrotate was not found on your system. Maybe it is not installed, or the module configuration <https://pscqas.vf.lmco.com:65005/config.cgi?logrotate> is incorrect." I have performed a system wide check for the "logrotate" program, with unsuccessful results, therefore unable to properly configure Log File Rotate module. Where is or should be the default location for the "logrotate" Webmin program? Thank you, Rich |

Are both the client and server systems Debian 3.1? It looks like the backup client's tar command is expecting the rmt command to be at /usr/libexec/rmt, when it is really at /etc/rmt. One work-around would be to run ln -s /etc/rmt /usr/libexec/rmt on the destination server. - Jamie |

I wouldn't mind, but this is really up to my publisher unfortunately. If they ask me to do a second edition I definately would, but so far I haven't heard anything.. > Also, why is there a 1 to 3 week wait to ship it?
