OK, I see the cause of this - it is a bug in 1.300. It will be fixed in the 1.310 release, and also in the 1.303 development version which will be available from http://www.webmin.com/devel.html in a few hours. - Jamie |

the webmin module is saying this after upgrading DG, not sure what its telling me to get from dansguardian site, the module or DG itself ,since i already got DG " The version you have is not supported. Please get DansGuardian from http://www.dansguardian.org. DG version: false" |

Since I upgrade to webmin 1.30 from 1.29 my ldap and user secondary group selections are not highlighted for my default user template. I went into module config and my default groups for the secondary groups were still there. But, when I go to create a user my default secondary groups are not highlighted. Any ideas what might have happened? One other issue on the create user form for ldap users and groups the secondary groups the label is a purplish blue and you can click on it and it gives you the following error: Failed to read help file /usr/libexec/webmin-1.300/ldap-useradmin/help/2nd.html Do I need to downgrade to 1.29 to see if this fixes my problem? That's because the BIND module doesn't yet support substituting $ variables
in the template file. But it will in the next release ..

OK, I tryed the workaround and it worked
It is necessary to change 10.1 in all the 2 text-boxes, not only the first
one as I firstly tryed

Thanks, this is a bug in Webmin 1.290 and 1.300 .. I will fix it
in the next release. The work-around is to go to the Webmin
Configuration module, click on the Operating System icon and
change your OS to SuSE 10.0.

I will fix it in the next release. The work-around is to go to the Webmin Configuration module, click on the Operating System icon and change your OS to SuSE 10.0. - Jamie |

It seems to me that the apply configuration button (under Network Confguration) is missing again while using SUse Linux 10.1. No problem whith other Suse Version (9.2; 9.3; 10.0) The problem is present in 1.290 and in 1.300 thanks in advance, Andrea Chi ricevesse questa mail per errore e' gentilmente pregato di cancellarla. Hi Jamie
i added
@ IN A ${IP}
www IN A ${IP}
to the template file. but when i added a new master zone via bind form and
put the required IP 1.2.3.4 in the form all the lines are correct as per the
template but the file shows
@ IN A ${IP}
www IN A ${IP}

@ IN A 1.2.3.4
www IN A 1.2.3.4

You can enable the firewall module without actually blocking any traffic though .. it just sets up rules to let everything through. - Jamie |

You need to either add or uncomment the following line in Postfix:
mailbox_command =3D /usr/local/bin/procmail
This applies to Postfix 2.3 or better. I am not sure about older
versions. Check your path to 'procmail' and change it if it is incorrect.
The postfix main.cf file is usually in either the /etc/postfix or
/usr/local/etc/postfix directory.
Make sure that the 'home_mailbox' and 'mail_spool_directory' entries are
commented out. By default they usually are.
Just out of curiosity, do you really need procmail? I have found it to
be getting rather unfashionable. Then again, that is my own opinion.

Yes, you can do this in the System Logs module. Just click on the entries for /var/log/debug and kern.log, and in the 'Message types to log' section add a now with the Facilities set to local7 and the Priorities to None. > another problem is, that on one of my servers, although iptables is > installed, the module is reporting that none of the supported firewall > systems is found. what can i do about this? Have you tried using the Linux Firewall module on that server to do the initial firewall setup? Unless this is done, the Bandwidth module can't add the iptables rules it needs. - Jamie |

Hi all, I amsure this has been convered before, but I can locate a definitive answer. I have made some modifications to the usermin change password modules, and I want to rename it so that when I upgrade I don't loose the changes. I understand the I would need to change the name of the directory in /usr/local/usermin-n.nnn/change-password to someting else like /usr/local/usermin-n.nnn/change-passsword-2 and the /etc/usermin/change-password to /etc/usermin/change-password-2 . Where else to names, lables etc need to be changed to make this a truely unique module. -Grant |

hello, on debian 3.1, if i enable the bandwith monitoring, my /var partition is running full very quickly. one thing i realized is, that the firewall logging is not just going into /var/log/bandwidth but alos into /var/log/debug AND /var/log/kern.log. i wonder if there's a way to disable this behaviour. another problem is, that on one of my servers, although iptables is installed, the module is reporting that none of the supported firewall systems is found. what can i do about this? This is already possible in Webmin 1.300 - when creating an HTTP Service monitor, you can specific a regular expression that the resulting page must match. - Jamie On 22/Sep/2006 11:32 Pat Erler wrote .. > ok, that's possible, right.. > > without opening a new thread: what i'm in need of for the "system and > server status" module, is a test if a remote webpage has changed - could > you think about implementing this? what somehow should be possible is, > to > ignore smaller changes, like a current date display on the website.. > > thanks, > > PAT > > On Fri, 22 Sep 2006 18:44:42 +0200, Jamie Cameron <jca...@we...> > wrote: > > > On 21/Sep/2006 23:56 Pat Erler wrote .. > >> hi jamie, > >> > >> in the scheduled backup, everytime a backup is repeated the existing > >> backup file is overwritten. this way, there is a (small) time when no > >> backup of the system exists. so, is it possible to write the backup > >> remotely(!) to a tempfile and to overwrite the existing backup file > >> after > >> the verification of the new backup file? > > > > Why not just use the post-backup command feature to rename the backup > > file (using SSH or something) when it is complete? ok, that's possible, right.. without opening a new thread: what i'm in need of for the "system and = server status" module, is a test if a remote webpage has changed - could= = you think about implementing this? what somehow should be possible is, t= o = ignore smaller changes, like a current date display on the website.. thanks, PAT On Fri, 22 Sep 2006 18:44:42 +0200, Jamie Cameron <jca...@we...> = = wrote: > On 21/Sep/2006 23:56 Pat Erler wrote .. >> hi jamie, >> >> in the scheduled backup, everytime a backup is repeated the existing >> backup file is overwritten. this way, there is a (small) time when no= >> backup of the system exists. so, is it possible to write the backup >> remotely(!) to a tempfile and to overwrite the existing backup file = >> after >> the verification of the new backup file? > > Why not just use the post-backup command feature to rename the backup > file (using SSH or something) when it is complete?
