Just a thought, but it would be nice if a reboot server option existed on the bottom 
on the left side under Logout.

I found the problem....

I tried to use syslog-ng instad of syslog, but it does not make any =
difference.

Then I realized that in firewall broken by bandwith monitoring setup I =
had "Do Nothing" rules

They were there because they were old rules no more actual I left there =
to remember me something.

Removing that "do nothing" rules the setup is complete.

Yes - if you set the second parameter for lock_file to 1, it will not
be diffed when logging is done.

The easiest way to do this is to use the install-module.pl script that comes
with Webmin. It can be found in the root directory, typically /usr/libexec/webmin .
When run, it normally only needs a single parameter, the path to the .wbm file
you want to install.

Thanks for pointing this out - I have just released version 3.5 of the
theme to fix this bug.

Hi Vernon,

Does Webmin's Sendmail module shown sendmail as running? The code in Virtualmin 3.35 should perform the same check, and get the same result.

If the Sendmail module reports that it is down, you may need to adjust the PID file path on the Module Config page to use the correct location for Mailscanner.

Is your system having trouble doing reverse address resolution, perhaps due to a down DNS server? When you open the Firewall module, Webmin runs the iptables-save command, which will reverse-resolve any IP addresses in your firewall configuration.

For those who are interested in Virtualmin (Webmin's module for web virtual hosting),
version 3.35 is now available for download from http://www.webmin.com/vdownload.html .

This new release adds only a few small features over the last version, but is paired
with a cool new theme designed specifically for use with Virtualmin. This framed theme
makes navigation between domains and configuration of each domain much easier than 
the standard Webmin themes, while still allowing access to all the usual Webmin modules
if desired.

As always, check it out and let me know what you think..

[webmin-l] Virtualmin - 3.34 install failure

I just received this error installing the newest virtualmin (updating mine from 3.33):

Failed to install module from http://download.webmin.com/download/virtualmin/virtual-server-3.34.gpl.wbm.gz : virtual-server::module_install failed : Undefined subroutine &virtual_server::get_domain_php_mode called at /usr/libexec/webmin/virtual-server/feature-webmin.pl line 671.

I am on a redhat 9 system.

Unfortunately, the self-upgrade feature is not complete yet - it attempts to upgrade
to the next release of regular Webmin, which won't work due to different configuration
directories. For now, you'd need to download the RPM and upgrade it manually.

Seems like some of this stuff equates to taking the keys for your car 
and instead of keeping them in your pocket, you put them in a car next 
to your locked car and then lock that car and put those keys in your 
pocket. Arrrgh!!!

Anyway, now they're complaining about snet-sensor-mgmt. Seems like I 
need to limit access to Webmin.

So, in the IP Access Control, if I want to allow access from anywhere 
with my Class C, do I use 230.123.33.0/24?

I'm trying not to kill Webmin access and have to go grepping for the 
entry to repair a mistake.

And yet this guise of security has never made mention of the use of bad 
passwords and so many of the obvious ways in. Oh well...
