TuxPaint 0.9.21-macosx.dmg crash on my MAC OSX 10.7.3 Why ? |

Saw this over at Lirbe Graphics: http://libregraphicsworld.org/blog/entry/digimend-makes-low-budget-graphic-tablets-just-work-on-linux Wacom tablets are failry well-supported on Linux, but this project aims to get others working, too. (An app like Tux Paint doesn't need fancy high-end stuff... but drawing with even the most basic tablet functionality is a much nicer experience, in my opinion!) -- -bill! Sent from my computer |

I just noticed the "Doodle 4 Google" contest, where students in the United States can create a drawing which may be picked to appear on the Google home page -- as well as on a limited-edition set of Crayola crayon boxes -- along with other prizes. Looking at their requirements, it appears to be okay to use computer software to make the drawing, so I thought I'd spread the word here! Make a doodle with Tux Paint! :) The contest is here: http://www.google.com/doodle4google/ Enjoy, and good luck to anyone out here who enters! -- -bill! Sent from my computer |

Hi my dear friend http://pqrimadeeasy.com/nnetiqn.php?avaqlistenid=72 Thu, 26 Jan 2012 12:52:22 ______________ "Terry Watkins was laughing derisively at some remark of Cora Siebold, who, arm in arm with her chum Dot Myers, had paused long enough to fire a broadside at him.Why dont some of you smarties who talk so much about the wonderful things you can do make yourselves receiving sets! Too lazy? Baseball and swimming and loafing around are all you think about." (c) NORMAND wixuwixu |

of course, I'm glad I can help. I have found two files named current_id.txt, One of them is in the folder where I save my pictures now- the directory doesn't include Hebrew. The other one is in a directory that does include Hebrew- C:\Users\בוחבוט\AppData\Roaming\TuxPaint (the Hebrew is my username) Zehavit. -----Original Message----- From: Pere Pujal i Carabantes [mailto:per...@gm...] Sent: Friday, January 13, 2012 10:34 AM To: tux...@li... Ouch!, so I see two approaches to try to identify the problem: One is to locate a file called stdout.txt or stderr.txt that tuxpaint should generate, it may be hiden somewhere in the filesystem, and post it here. Hopefully it contains useful info to diagonostic the problem. The other consists in uninstall tuxpaint and install an older version, say 0.9.21, if it works, uninstall the older version and install a slightly newer one, 0.9.21b and test again, then report what is the newest version that works. If none of 0.9.21* versions works for you, then there are chances that the problem is in the configuration of your computer as the problem you relate is obvious enouth to be have noticed by somebody else too. > > As for the sound- my kids don't like the ones that sounds like the > penguin talks - I think they are called- "areyousure", "tuxok", and "youcannot" > I don't really know how to replace them with empty ones. > In audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ , Generate-->Silence 1 frame, then export to ogg, As it is so small I've attached one silent ogg to this message. If none of 0.9.21* versions works for you, then there are chances that the problem is in the configuration of your computer as the problem you relate is obvious enouth to be have noticed by somebody else too. > > As for the sound- my kids don't like the ones that sounds like the penguin > talks - I think they are called- "areyousure", "tuxok", and "youcannot" > I don't really know how to replace them with empty ones. > In audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ , Generate-->Silence 1 frame, then export to ogg, As it is so small I've attached one silent ogg to this message. Note that the files tuxpaint will search for sounds ends with the .ogg extension, i.e. areyousure.ogg instead of plain areyousure you may consider letting your OS show you the file extensions. > Thank you very much. > > Zehavit. > Yours Pere |

So- After getting the message there are no pictures, I can only find them if I go straight to the directory. No, it doesn't load it- that's exactly the problem. As for the sound- my kids don't like the ones that sounds like the penguin talks - I think they are called- "areyousure", "tuxok", and "youcannot" I don't really know how to replace them with empty ones. Thank you very much. Subject: [Tuxpaint-users] "no pictures saved" Hi all Replying to Zehavit I'm using the latest version- I downloaded today from the website - 0.9.21c, on windows 7. I have 2 questions please: 1. My pictures are saved properly (I can see them at the directory I chose), but when I press the "open" button I get a massage "no files saved", what is the problem? I'll just mention that it happened also before I chanced the save directory. Two questions: After getting the message, can you see the files in the open dialog? If you do a draw, then save and close, do tuxpaint load this draw at next startup? 2. Can I remove only some of the sound effects? I have located them but when I tried to delete the specific ones that I don't want - all the sound effects stopped working. (I restored them and the sound works now) I don't think so, but you can replace the ones that are annoying you with empty(silent) sounds BTW Which ones you don't like? Hello, I downloaded tuxpaint-0.9.21-win9x-installer.exe from the official Homepage of Tuxpaint on a old 486 notebook with windows 95, 28 MB RAM for my daughter. After installing and starting the software the following Message appears: TUXpaint will be closed after an invalid action. This Message appears as well after a new installation. Looking on the details of the message, it announces: TUXPaint does an invalid order in Modul TUXPAINT.EXE at 0137:004beec Register: EAX=00000000 CS=0137 EIP=0041beec EFLGS=00010246 EBX=00000000 SS=013fESP=0078f490 EBP=0078fc08 ECX=00000000 DS=013fESI=00000000 FS=0e6f EDX=00000000 ES=013fEDI=00000000 GS=0000 Bytes bei CS: EIP: 0f 31 c7 04 24 00 00 00 00 b8 4c 38 43 00 89 44 Stapelwerte: 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 000000000 000000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 00000000 000000000 Does anybody knows, what failure appears and how can I get the software running? I have the same problem. TuxPaint was working fine until I "downgraded" to Lion (I think it wasn't worth the problems I've been having on my MacBookPro, but that's for another thread). Anyway, TuxPaint just started and stayed in the doc. I had to force quit it every time. So, using the Tux Paint Config App in the Applications folder I did the following which seems to allow me to use TuxPaint, but not full-screen but that's OK I suppose: 1) set the Video/Sound Tab's Window size to 1400x800 2) Uncheck the fullscreen and Native checkboxes if checked. 3) As mentioned in other areas make sure Load System Fonts under the Languages tab is unchecked. Hi all, I'm developing a java software that should opens files with tuxpaint. My idea was: 1. Use the command: *tuxpaint-import filename1 filename2 ... * 2. *Read the InputStream of the Process that executes the command to read the name of last imported file* 3. *Replace the content of the /home/user/.tuxpaint/current_id.txt file with **the last imported file name* 4. Run tuxpaint This isn't an elegant solution so I would know if there's some option to skip the second and third step. Moreover I want report that the command *tuxpaint-import *has problem with multiples files because it renames the imported files with the actual time and most times this way overwrites the imported files between them. I just received this. I've passed it along to John P, but thought I'd post on these two lists, in case anyone else has a suggestion in the meantime, or if John can't help: We are are having a very unusual problem this year with Tux Paint. The children will save their work and it can be seen in the open file within the program. When we try to insert it in a spreadsheet to make a personal calendar the file does not exist. We are using Sunrays running Oracle through virtual terminal server running Windows 2008. We have 4 servers for the students to use. They are installed with Tux Paint 0.9.21C 2010 12 24 The students use the "alternate save" in configurations page and it points to their own drive. Their drive has a saved folder and a saved documents folder with some of the pictures but they are missing some from a couple of servers. The servers are load balanced so they do not choose a server. I have looked on the C drive for them and have searched for them with the days date but they are not found in the search. Thanks in advance! -- -bill! Sent from my computer |

Hi I'm also running the current version of Lion 10.7.2 (actually 10.7.2 server). The old version just crashes but Martin's test version works for me.
