Hi, I'm trying to create nice looking benchmarks with gnuplot which works quite well so far. See attachment. What is still is missing is histogram shadows. I've seen several examples in the internet which draw curve shadows by simple drawing the curve two times with a slight offset. Is there a trick like this for histograms? regards, Gerhard |

Hello, I have several data sets that I want to display on a plot with varying colored csplines. I want to display the the raw data points on the splines and have the colors of the data points match that of the associated spline. I also would like the key to display the line color and point shape together for each data set. The closest I have come is plotting the data points with key titles and overlaying the splines. However, to get the colors to match, I need to specify the colors of each point and each spline, which is very time consuming with all the data I have. Also, the line does not appear in the key. Does anyone know a "clean" way to integrate the points into a cspline display? it is possible to avoid ugly escaping by putting the processing commands
into a separate shell script.

I was under the impression that it is possible to plot only parts of a data
file with the ternary operator (?:), strcol() and missing ('?'), but I get
strange results.

Hi all, I would like to manually alter my plot's legend as in the example you can find here: http://tinypic.com/r/v66610/6 The line samples are automatically placed by the "set key" command, with a blank title in the plot command (i.e.: "title ' ' "). All the rest is placed manually by me as labels. Obviously this is not an ideal way to do it as, for instance, everything gets messed if I change the label font or the key spacing. Do you have any suggestion to place those labels around the key fairly and (almost) automatically? I also thought I could build the entire key manually but cannot find a command to simply display a line+point sample at some location. Thanks in advance for your help! NL |

I have a problem, gnuplot changing font type. If I run it manually from terminal mode (manually), establishing full path in the same header gnuplot script -> /set term png crop 2024.2024 font size '/usr/share/fonts/truetype/liberation/LiberationSans-Bold.ttf' 10/ Runs well. Now, if I run it from CRON (automatically), so -> * / 3 **** /bin/bash/ home/mm5/send_ftp/mapas/script/ejecutar.sh Change the letter (type and size) and puts one for default. Summerhot. |

Dear gnuplot users, I want to plot one function set terminal postscript eps enhanced set output "distr.eps" set xrange [0:1] set key above f(x)=3*x**2/((1.5-x)**2*(x+3))*exp(-(1/(1-2/3*x)+4/3*log(x+3)+5/3*log(abs(3/2-x))-3*log(3)-1+5/3*log(2))/6) plot f(1)*x and it says: all points y value undefined! There are a lot of options that persist between plots, so that (e.g.) if I place some markup on a plot with "set arrow...", it will appear on all subsequent plots. The "reset" command clears all that, but seems to cause problems for multiplot mode (e.g. by screwing up the automatic layout). Is there an in-between command that clears all the labels, tics, markup, etc. without botching multiplots? Or is it necessary to actually track which plot parameters have been set, and unset them in between plots if I don't want the options to persist? |

Hi all
I am sploting some 3D data and trying to use a png file as a backgroung
image (w/alpha channel). The image is a grayed black and white version of some colored drawing.
The problem is if I first splot the bg image and then the data, the image
is plotted as if it was not grayed. All gray tones are "converted" to
black (rgb=#000000) and the mess is obvious.
I used:
splot './data.txt' using 2:3:4:5 with linespoints lc rgb variable lw 2 pt 6 ,\
'./some_file.png' binary filetype=png dy=0.00000485 \
dx=0.00000565 origin=(-45.66515,-22.77950,-99) with rgbalpha
If I first plot the data point and then the image, it appear grayed as it
should be *BUT* it is overwriting/erasing some points/lines where they "coexist"
and this is not desirable.
I used:
splot './some_file.png' binary filetype=png dy=0.00000485 \
dx=0.00000565 origin=(-45.66515,-22.77950,-99) with rgbalpha , \

How can I solve this? Is it possible to make the background image stay in the
background?
Note: zdata ranges from -89 to -30
Note 2: view is set to "0,0,1,1"
Gnuplot is 4.4 patchlevel 3 (Ubuntu 12.04)
Tried with 4.6.1 patchlevel 0 (downloaded and compiled) with same results.
