Hello all,
I have the same problem - how to access parameters passed on the system
command line.
I am a Windows user, so solutions described above are unreachable for me.
Let's have system command:
wgnuplot.exe tab2png.gp test.tab
Inside the tab2png.gp, I need to access test.tab passed on the command line.
How to do it?
Do you think it would be possible or useful to implement built-in variables
(e.g. ARG1, ... ARG9) which would represent the command line arguments for
[w]gnuplot?
Or to create a built-in function e.g. getenv(varname) which would get the
environment variable? So it would be possible to write to the command line:
C:\> wgnuplot.exe tab2png.gp test.tab
or:
C:\> set FILE=test.tab
C:\> wgnuplot.exe tab2png.gp
And the tab2png would look e.g.:
plot $ARGV1 using 1:2 with lines
or:
set FILE getenv("FILE")
plot FILE using 1:2 with lines

By overriding gnuplot's tic placement, you rob it of the knowledge needed to place minor tics by itself. If you still want minor tics, see "help mtics" about how to work around that limitation. |

I have been having this problem with vanishing small tics. This ONLY works
when I let gnuplot use its default x-axis values. When I change them using

Hi everybody, I need to use $ in gnuplot script. I wrote my script in bash environtment because I must loop the same script for many files. But, I found error message when I used $. Experiencing a problem when using the "script" below for making a plot. If i change the terminal to epslatex, everything looks exactly as it should look like, but when using the TikZ terminal the key titles behave strangly. To get proper steps between each point I've added an invisible pseudo-dataset (http://old.nabble.com/symbol-points-of-curve-td18112970.html), but I don't know if this is the reason for the key titles to become as they do. Anyone who can point out the error in my *.gp file for making the plot below? The strange thing is that this happens only with this plot.
