Hello, I want to plot images with gnuplot 4.2.4-6. I wrote a small C program that extracts RGB values for each pixel and stores it to a ASCII-file which should be supported. The first column is the x-position, the second the y-position, the rest are the rgb values: 0 0 255 255 255 1 0 255 255 255 2 0 255 255 255 3 0 255 255 255 4 0 255 255 255 5 0 255 255 255 6 0 255 255 255 7 0 255 255 255 8 0 255 255 255 9 0 255 255 255 ... The first pixels are all white. First question: Should I use a range from 0 to 255 or from 0 to 1? Second question: How can I now plot that data? In the demo scripts I can only find examples with binary data. I tried many options similar to: plot 'image.rgb' format='%uchar%uchar%uchar' using ($3+$4+$5) with rgbimage and plot 'image.rgb' array=(1852x917) with rgbimage when using implicit xy-coordinates (without the first columns). I'm sure someone can point me to the solution. Thanks for your help! Martin |

Hi all, After a long campaign of measurement I got a set of data which I want to display in a 3D graph. My main goal is to fit these data with a surface, in order to extract some parameters. "fit" tool is working, but I don't know how to control it. Particularly if each point weights equal, the fitting procedure "ignores" a lot points far from the others, but since I deal with resonances, I am interested in the converse: something that weights much more points far from the average. Is there a way to change automatically the weight of each point in a way that fitted surface will be closer to them? Use
plot "something" w l lt 1 lc rgb "color"
where lc = linecolor
and besides rgb you have "color", which can be some standard color (e.g.
"red"), or it can be an html color code ("#0000ff" for blue).
The color code can be generated by some intuition as these are
superpositions of red, green and blue, or seen from various applications
like, kcolorpick in kde.
Also when u change desktop background, the color selection options give u
these color codes :-).

Hello, I try to get rid of the surface mesh but somehow fail. I am drawing a 2d colored map plus contour lines (that I am also using outside gnuplot hence the outfile). It draws the contour nicely, also the map looks nice, however I get a quite bright yellow grid on top of the map that I am not able to eliminate. I hope you can hep me. I already looked in the help files and also the internet but was not successful. I completely agree with you for the general case, but apparently here the accuracy is sufficient to give a good result. I am looking for a way to plot two data files on top of each other. For instance, basically two rectangles on top of each other, both with their own y-axis but sharing the x-axis. Is this possible? FOr example, the following has both red & green sharing the same space, but I'd like the lower half of the graph to show the red & the upper half of the graph to show the green, with a black line seperating the two.
