[Gnuplot-info] 2 lines of data in one graph

I have two sets of data, each containing about 100,000 Y data points on an X
Time scale, and want to show both sets of data on one graph. The problem I
am having is that it is very hard to read both sets, as they are pretty much
on top of each other. I tried making one line width greater than the other,
but this distorts the data. I am sure I can use a 3d graph somehow using
splot, but I have no idea how to do this and cannot find any good examples
anywhere. Anyone have any ideas? Putting the data in one file is also not a
problem, such as 10:38:17 0.106 0.021.

I am plotting a graph with boxes whose y values fall above and below 0.
 I want to show data labels above the boxes, but the
plot .. with labels offset x,y seems only to accept constants, not a
variable or a function or an expression.  All I need is something like
"offset 0,($2/abs($2)).   Is this doable?

If you use the cairo library in that web you are recommended not to newer versions of the Microsoft
compiler than Visual C++ 6.

I'm a MinGW user and do not have no experience to build gnuplot by the MSVC.

I feel that it would better to give the more detailed description for your building environments.

To my little knowledge, the error R6034 will occur when the version of VC++ system of user are
different from that is used for building external libraries.   

Perhaps you know the below but write the URL just in case.

If you are building at the command line, use the mt.exe tool to add the manifest as a resource. Use
resource ID 1 if building an EXE, 2 if building a DLL.

Anyway it is better to wait the advises and suggestions from MSVC experts.

to change these you may replace specific line types
by line styles with the same index:

answer, so forgive if I ask again:

I'm drawing many contours in 3D-plots like in the demo:

But how do you change the colors of the contour-plots? (I want them to be
just simple black with different "dashing"-styles)

[Gnuplot-info] R6034 error when building with cairo libs

I had previously built wgnuplot.exe from source code with the pdflib library
with no problems.
I have now attempted building with the cairo library instead.
The exe successfully compiles and builds.

Initially when I tried to launch it I was prompted to add msvcr80.dll to the
working directory.
I added the dll then tried to launch the executable again.  It brought up
the following error:



Runtime Error!

R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly



Has anyone come across this problem before?
After googling most suggestions were to modify the makefile to change/create
a manifest file.
Is this the correct solution?  I am a bit wary of modifying the makefile
since I didn't need to do this for the pdflib build

user ranlot in the very first message. So, for example, I have such file,
with name "1.txt":

I read documentation and wrote such a script:

set encoding koi8r

set border
set xtics border
set mxtics
set ytics axis

set grid xtics ytics

set xrange [0:50]
set yrange [0:10]

set palette model RGB maxcolors 4
set palette defined ( 0 "blue", 1 "green", 2 "yellow", 3 "red" )

plot 		'1.txt' using 1:2:3 with points pointtype 5 palette
pause mouse

Well, I get such an image:

All points are yellow! It is because z coordinates of points are all in
interval from 0 to 5, wich belongs to yellow color. But how I can change
this intervals? I need all points to be different colors. And - what I need
to write to delete "color legend" at right side of graph?

My name is Mandeep Bedi and I am emailing you on behalf of the Wavelet
Auditory Model Group at the University of Maryland.  We are working on a
software project related to sound filtering and are interested in using
gnuplot for graphing data from our program and allowing user interface.  To
make gnuplot better suited for our project, we were interested in adding a
few features to it and would appreciate your feedback:

--The ability to "import" functions into gnuplot from from our project
library.  Our project is predominantly written in Java, and our idea is to
attach a shared object in the form of a .so file to gnuplot and then execute
a command that goes something like:

import function f(x) from 'wam.so'

so that we can use the function f(x) in our gnuplot script.

--We are also interested in adding functionality to gnuplot for importing
tabular data from our project, perhaps by a command like the following:

import datafile 'hello' from 'wam.so'

While gnuplot does already support file-reading, we are hoping to make more
use of the shared library idea introduced above, and were wondering what you
thought about this.
