your data sets maximum value is 21
so you don't use the whole color range.

[Gnuplot-info] change color palette for each graph

Hi,

I try to change the color of each splot as below, but all the lines in the graph
still get the same color.

(3) What's the use of the final $1 in the above command? It does not help
building t, so does it just help to set up the table?

(4) Actually the purpose of set table is to construct the macro t, is it? If
the case, is there way to suppress the creation of the table? I mean, can
there be no output except for generating t?

and I want to use the second column to display at each xtics and replace the
numbers, so that I get

Thanks for the feedback.  I find I get a great look with the splines algorithm:

set cbrange [0:115] //without this for some reason I get colors assigned to negative values, even though there are no negative values in the data being plotted

set dgrid3d 400,400 splines

I think my client will like this look.  However, previously, they have been accustomed to the look you get on a contour chart in Excel or DeltaGraph - a look with angled, straight lines. Examples:

And the next question: if the Excel way is such a standard that it is used by Excel and DeltaGraph - why doesn't gnuplot use it also?  I'm hoping there's a very good reason that I can tell my client if they ask me. :)

I have this simple question:

When you use this palette with a range from 0 to 3:

set palette model RGB defined (0 "green", 1 "dark-green", 1 "yellow", 2
"dark-yellow", 2 "red", 3 "dark-red" )

 

What colours take the values 1 and 2?

Always the first one? (dark-green and dark-yellow)

Always the second one? (yellow and red)

Is there a way to select the colour that will be chosen in the palette
jump?

The Excel and DeltaGraph charts have very straight, angled edges, which my client prefers. The gnuplot chart is in squarish blocks. Is it possible to avoid this squarish blocky look, and to get this look that we find in Excel and Deltagraph charts, with a gnuplot false color or contour chart?

What version gnuplot are you using now?
Which platform are you using ?

The png terminal depends on the libgd.

accommodate this, but it has not been extensively tested.

Anyway, for the traditional style font selection (before 4.4),

The environmental variable 
 GDFONTPATH
is important.

For the font selection via fontconfig are also used for the wxt, pngcairo, and pdfcairo.
The existence and location of etc/fonts/fonts.conf is important.

[Gnuplot-info] Avoiding Squarish Blocky Look in False Color Charts and/or Contour Maps?

When I run a sample contour chart in Excel and in DeltaGraph, I get a different look than I do with the false color map in gnuplot. The Excel and DeltaGraph charts have very straight, angled edges, which my client prefers. The gnuplot chart is in squarish blocks. Is it possible to avoid this squarish blocky look, and to get this look that we find in Excel and Deltagraph charts, with a gnuplot false color or contour chart?

Thanks, I've seen those scripts, but I want the x-axis scaled into bins. That
way I have one bar for grades that are 70-79%, 80%-89%, etc.

I'm a novice with gnuplot and I'm trying to make a histogram or bar plot
that looks like the following:

use an higher density of pixels for rasterizing, and more output pixels:
convert -density 1000 -resize 3200x2400 aaa.eps aaa.png

but best to leave out the -resize part and just tweak the correct number 
for -density for the desired output size.
