DSOL is a full featured multi-formalism, distributed simulation environment developed at Delft University of Technology (The Netherlands). DSOL has support for discrete event and for continuous modeling. Formalisms supported are event scheduling, DEVS, flow-based simulation, and continuous modeling through sets of differential equations. The first release was introduced at IEEE's Winter Simulation Conference in 2002. Since then, numerous papers and PhD dissertations have been developed, with applications in the fields of transportation and traffic, logistics, supply chain management, gaming and training, health care, and many others.

EasyGeo is an open source cartography program that generates maps using explicit equations in the choice of parameters. The input data is point data (not lines or areas) using csv files with object names (cities), variables (e.g. birth rate) and x and y coordinates. It is also possible to import maps in GeoJSON format. Possible output maps are: proportional circles, colour classes and interaction potential functions (Gravity models). Test data (10 countries and associated data) is provided with the program and located in the installation directory A user manual is also provided.

The plugins include functionality to edit and check CN / MN XDD / XDC files against the DS311 V1.2.0 and the DS 301 1.3.0 specification. Niche Analyst (NicheA) was developed based on the BAM framework which allows users to create virtual spaces and virtual species, and to analyze ecological niches in both multivariate environmental and geographic spaces, linking views of the niche in the two spaces. The unique functionality in NicheA, not available in other software programs, is estimating Grinnellian niches of species based on environmental variables and occurrence records, but with a clear focus on fundamental ecological niches. NicheA can display ecological niches; calculate their shape, density, location, and other attributes; and quantify similarity among multiple niches.

This project was born from a stage at the "Signals and Images Lab (si.isti.cnr.it), Institute of Information Science and Technologies of the National Research Council of Italy". ImageJforXTF extends the open source ImageJ software with functionalities that allow to open and manage XTF files. This kind of files is used to record sonar and bathymetric data. An user can choose to open any file with extension ".xtf" so that the program parses it and shows the resulting image. Then the user can resize the image, apply graphic filters, perform measurements and georeference the recorded data using GoogleMap and GoogleEarth, in addition to using the basic functionality offered by ImageJ.
