...See here for a comparison with other compressed file systems. DwarFS also doesn't compromise on speed and for my use cases, I've found it to be on par with or perform better than SquashFS. For my primary use case, DwarFS compression is an order of magnitude better than SquashFS compression, it's 6 times faster to build the file system, it's typically faster to access files on DwarFS and it uses less CPU resources. -

DirSize is a directory reporting tool. It recursively scans the provided (or current) directory, and reports the number of files and director sizes of each subdirectory present. It also defaults to sorting by by directory size, but there are other options. One of the interesting things about DirSize is it shows a visual representation of the file sizes of counts. This is a header-only single-file std::filesystem compatible helper library, based on the C++17 and C++20 specs, but implemented for C++11, C++14, C++17 or C++20 (tightly following the C++17 standard with very few documented exceptions).
