  • Great tool that is easy to use. A must for anyone looking to optimize the size of files (particularly for the web).
  • This file optimization tool is the best and most complete you will find on the Internet! Because it optimizes better than any other program I know, and it does not matter whether JPG, PNG, PDF, it swallows just about all file types! In addition, it is constantly supplied with updates and further developed for years! There are many optimization levels, from low to high optimization, and thus from low to high compression rate. It can also compress many files losslessly if needed, and it can also remove metadata if needed. It can compress all file types mixed in one go! No other open source program has so much distros and features inside and is so damn awesome too! I am really excited about this masterpiece of innovative programming art!

  • It is the most comprehensive suite of optimization that I've seen to this date. It's better than e-Mage, PNGGauntlet, PNGOptimizer, Caesium, CaesiumPH, and RIOT. It is great and I do not hesitate to give it five stars. However, it is not perfect. As of this writing, it is difficult to resize the app's columns. Also, the app stores its settings in an awful place, i.e. the root of the user profile. (It should have stored it in a proper subfolder in the AppData\Roaming folder.) But, in comparison to its competitors, these are minor issues.

  • There is malware in the windows program. Connections were attempted by this program to be made with xml.mobipromote.com and other known malicious websites. I deleted this program because of this.

Sure they are from FO? Did you looked at the source code and found the trojan?

  • This author has provided hundreds upon hundreds of optimized builds of everyday apps and even brought the convenience of FileOptimizer to us users to relate in the same space-saving manner.

  • FileOptmizer is really great and so damn useful. Two things I'd hope the developer focus on is: 1) Clearly showing if the optimization of a file is lossless or lossy 2) A clear link to show that a portable version is available (it is rather hidden now)

  • This is my go-to tool for lossless optimization of PNG, JPEG, and PNG. It's a desktop application with drag-and-drop capabilities to optimize my images before uploading to my website.

  • I love this software. the only suggestion i can think of is possibly a command line interface option, maybe see if there is a way to handle files faster as the most benefit from this program seems to be in optimizing a large number of files.

  • Every Webmaster and their clients should use FileOptimizer. It's easy to use and it's a real time and space saver! I use it to reduce the size file of my PDF, JPEG ( JPG ) and PNG. Contrary to Lossy compression tool you'll not loose images quality because it's a lossless compressor. It's also a perfect tool to save bandwidth or to reduce the size of a file that you would normally send by email. You can also using it to compress your files before using an online lossy compression tool (you'll save some time and money). Thanks Nikkho for your work, your share is realy appreciate.

  • Brilliant software released under open source license! I use FileOptimizer every day to reduce the size of PNG and JPEG photos before I upload them to my WordPress website. FileOptimizer recognizes the level of compression in a JPEG, and then somehow reduces the file size further without compressing the file any more. There's no further degradation of the jpeg by running it through FileOptimizer. Of course, because PNG format is lossless, you have nothing to lose (literally) by running it through FileOptimizer. It can't harm the image quality, but will reduce the file size. I often do RAW edits in TIFF format, but then convert them to PNG format because it is lossless and compressed and much smaller than the original TIFF. I then run the PNGs through FileOptimizer to reduce their size even more. Thank you so much for creating this and building opensource software for the benefit of so many thousands of people.
