  • Followup: RE: Send Ctrl-Alt-Del to client

You also need to make sure on Vista and 7 that you allow the Software Secure Attention Sequence. Basically allow applications to simulate ctrl-alt-del with software: http://kb.realvnc.com/questions/102/How+can+I+enable+the+%22software+Secure+Attention+Sequence%22+policy%3F.

  • Followup: RE: Alternative tool for the Windows people

From a quick look at their web page, it looks like it may be a good alternative for people whose needs don't include Mac and/or Unix/Linux support. It has some features (server can un-lock a locked client) that I would really like on Synergy. But it's Windows-only, so it doesn't meet a need that is more important to me.

I have the same question. It sure would be nice to be able to unlock the Windows client machine from the server. (This is now on Windows 7.)

  • Followup: RE: Mouse reluctant to leave Mint 12 server

I upgraded to Linux Mint 12 last week and I have an Ubuntu 11.10 client. I use Gnome3 on both systems. After I start the server and client, nothing is working, but there is a workaround: If I reload Gnome3 on the server (by pressing "Alt+F2" and enter "r"), Syngery is working then.

  • Followup: RE: Synergy on a bluetooth PAN?

It is not clear what you want. I guess it is 2 laptops sitting next to each other. Thing you need to do: 1. check each has bluetooth and you can establish PAN, and 2. assign static ip addresses to bluetooth adapter settings on both laptops, 3. test if the laptops can see each other on the network (ie pings, net view commands) (You may need to add a static route for your bluetooth...

  • Won't Work If Minimized

I must have the synergy clients open for it to work. If minimized, the mouse over will not work. As soon as I maximize the window it works fine for the session.
