"PDF Studio Pro - 2024 version"

    Posted 2024-08-06

Pros: Pencil feature - This works well on my surface pro. I can use the pen to draw and write comments on documents, and the marker to highlight text.
Page resize - I have used this to resize from A4 to letter. As well as resizing the page, you can also scale the contents which is very handy!
Redacting - I have used the redaction feature to cut sensitive information from documents. I was able to mark the areas to be redacted and then apply them in one hit. Works great!

Cons: Sometimes the 'Edit text' tool can be tricky, but I was able to find the content in the sidebar and edit it there. Also, I think the icon could perhaps be different.

Overall: The 2024 version of PDF Studio Pro is great! I have used it on some very large documents (over a gigabyte) and it handles even the largest with ease.

"OMG - It's amazing and for only a fraction of the cost"

    Posted 2024-05-08

Pros: It does everything you need from a Professional PDF Editor (like Adobe Pro DC) but without the stupid monthly subscription that places like Adobe would charge you.

Cons: It's not the prettiest UI in the world but I can live with that :)

Overall: Qoppa PDFStudio for Life.... So I was looking to use Javascript for Custom Calculations and Custom Actions on a Form Filled PDF.

This allows me to make fields disappear or fill with conditional answers when a tick box is selected or a different field has data entered into it (which is just for little tinkering projects I'm doing in my spare time)

So like everyone else in the world I went to Adobe to get a copy of the current version only to find that Adobe no longer support any software that doesn't come with a monthly subscription fee.
To make matters worse, the monthly subscription fee equals $347.82 per year for their PRO version (which is the only version that can do Javascript Custom Calculations and Actions).

So I went searching the internet to find another PDF editor that can do this and after weeks of Free trials and multiple heartbreaks, I discovered Qoppa PDF Studio.

Not only does it have everything built-in for Javascript Custom Calculations, Custom Actions and all the other usual features we've all come to expect from any good PDF editor but it comes with a ONE OFF price that doesn't break my bank account.

Qoppa, You are the Best! 10/10
    Keep up the good work!

    Pros: It is complete.
    It looks very good.
    It works on Linux machines.
    It is not expansive.
    It is easy to use.

Cons: In fact I couldn't find anything bad.
Only thing is you have to pay for it, but a normal price.

Overall: I would buy this product for its usability, the looks and the simple fact it is a professional tool for a Linux machine.

"This is the Editor that solved once for all my hunt for a perfect pdf editor"

    Edited 2023-07-26

Pros: Lightweight, can sign documents, the editor feature has a ton of options, very intuitive, the tab feature allows you to have multiple files open at once and manage them easily.

Cons: When it's for default as your pdf program, it doesn't show the file's picture.

Overall: Best option if you want an editor that works well and it doesn't cost a fortune. I was tired of paying too much.

    "I love this program"

    Edited 2023-07-08

Pros: I have had this program since 2022 and i love it. I use it for my full time hobby and it means i do a lot of editing and printing of documents and artwork. I also love that there are tutorials that i can follow to learn even more things that i don't currently use. They are also adding even more to it which i am excited about. I highly recommend this software to anyone who needs a PDF program for their home and work needs. Go get it!

Cons: Sometimes it can be a bit difficult to navigate if you are new to it and not quite sure what you are looking for but that wasn't much of a problem for me. I found what i needed in the end.

Overall: I am very happy with it but i still have a lot to learn about it. That's my fault not theirs. I will get through it in my own time.

Pros: Easy and sensible program, intuitive and does it all. No other pdf software is any where near PDF Studio. Thanks Qoppa!

Cons: Took a little learning at first, but well worth the effort!

Overall: I love the overall concept, and I am a very happy convert. I have used other software, in the past, some which were just OK, some were below par, but Qoppa has got it right!

"Qoppa's PDF Studio is a brilliant alternative to Adobe without the need for subscription payments"

    Posted 2023-06-15

    Pros: - Easy to use
    - Provides all functions you need for editing with PDFs
    - Single payment no ongoing subscriptions to use
    - Runs on Windows, macOS and Linux

Cons: - Difficult to discover on web (swamped out by Adobe's advertising)

Overall: The software is a comprehensive easy-to-use PDF editor that provides all the functions you will need to edit PDFs. The software also costs a fraction of the competing product from Adobe. Aside from the many editing features one of the main things that I also like is that you only pay once for the version of the software that you are interested in. I have recently cancelled my Adobe subscriptions which was costing me a fortune for a ton of software that I simply don't use. I've also seen that the software is available for Windows, macOS and Linux which is brilliant if you use more than one operating system e.g. at home and work. In short if you are looking for a PDF editing solution, you should try out PDF Studio. The software allows you to easily create, convert, review, annotate and edit PDF files. PDF Studio has replaced all my other software that I was using to work with PDFs as I now can get the job done using one application.

    "Best Alternative PDF Editor"

    Posted 2023-04-07

Pros: - Feature-rich without a messy user interface
    - Able to drag files into the thumbnails pane
    - Simple digital signature and stamp features
    - Streamlined review tools
    - Minimal design is good for reading
    - I like the monochrome icons

Cons: - I would prefer it if there were more dark themes

Overall: Finally, a PDF editor that doesn't involve an expensive subscription, plus has all the features without the cluttered UI. It is intuitive to use and I prefer it to Adobe Acrobat, Foxit, PDF XChange, AcePDF, and others. Frankly, I am just relieved to have a perpetual license for a product that just works.

    "Great Acrobat alternative... and cost!"

    Posted 2022-07-31

Pros: Great capability, functionality, ease of use and cost.

As an alternative to Acrobat on MacOS Monterey, it really fits the bill, and works well.

Cons: Very little actually. The interface could be a bit smarter, but aesthetics do not really matter when the functionality is this good.

Overall: An excellent, much lower cost alternative to Acrobat if you have MacOS Monterey for example and do not wish to subscribe to Adobe.

"The Best PDF editor for Linux"

    Edited 2022-07-10

Pros: Qoppa PDF Studio is a fantastic piece of software for Linux users (I only use Linux, so I can't speak for the other OSs)
It does everything that Acrobat,Elements does, and maybe more, and it does it really well! It's by far the best PDF editor solution for Linux! The best part is you only pay once, and you own the software forever, with the option to update to a new version if it has a new feature that you need or want for a discounted price as well!

Cons: The only problem or annoyance is that the UI scaling on 4K displays is not the best, but you can set the DPI to 1000, and it gets better. The actual documents do not suffer from this scaling issue, the documents you work with are super crisp and clear.

Overall: If you are a Linux user, you need to try PDF Studio by Qoppa, and if you're a Windows user and wanting to move over to Linux but don't dare because you need a great PDF solution, you just found it!

"Great Tool for PDF Form Creation!"

    Edited 2022-01-25

Pros: The main feature that sold me on PDF Studio was Sequential Renaming. I've had form fields with duplicate names, and this feature made is easy to batch rename all of the fields at once.

Cons: The layout of the program took a little getting used to, but after a short while it is easy to use.

Overall: PDF Studio is a great alternative to the "Big Box" product. Paying one price instead of a subscription is a definite selling point for me.

Pros: Extremely versatile and comprehensive suite of PDF editing tools. I can move pages easily, redact items, sign things digitally both using digital IDs and image files, and add perfect custom watermarks, bookmarks, and page numbers.

Cons: The 2019 version was a little slow compared to Acrobat, but the 2021 version is much faster and almost instantly responsive.

Overall: PDF Studio does everything I need from a PDF editor in my legal practice. I am thrilled that this alternative solution exists.

Pros: The Batch features have been a great time saver working with multiple files. Clear menu system which is easy to navigate.

    Cons: None so far.

Overall: I’ve been using PDF Studio Pro for a week and very happy with performance and features. The batch feature has saved a lot of time and worked for both page rotations and optimizing. So far I don’t have any complaints as the software runs quickly, performing all needed tasks with minimal hit to system resources. The company is also very responsive to customers and actively working and developing their software!

Cons: Poor installation, no options, no dependencies in Linux. The price is a bit high for the pro version, also there is no updates on Linux.

    "Great form builder!"

    Posted 2021-03-02

Pros: Easy to build templates of complicated forms and copy and paste with incremented field names!
All of the features are in sight except for a few key right-click features (e.g alignment), which, once you know where things are, it's really easy to work.
Full suite of form element options in the top icon menu bar.
All document, edit, conversion, security, and form options are a short mouse move and click away. Very helpful in speedy creating and management of PDFs.
The Batch option set looks complete and also a key time-saver when working with large files and preparing for publication.
I looked up something in their online help and got right to the answer. What a relief good documentation is!

Cons: Very few minor issues with the product. In the Batch editing layout, I'd like to be able to navigate a document by bookmark. Navigation can slow an otherwise speedy process when working with large docs.
The user interface feels a bit 2005. But, who cares!

Overall: I've put most of my thoughts in the pros and cons above. The bottom line of any software as a tool is: Does it get the job done better than competitive products? Yes, PDF Studio Pro does. I also have Acrobat Pro and went searching for something that let me work with large documents without having to hand tool form field names over and over. Also, despite the comment about the user interface, the options are right there for you to choose and work with. Something Acrobat Pro has yet to figure out. They have a cooler interface but I like working in PDF Studio Pro because it's more functional for my workflow.
I happily forgo the interface ageism for the usability of this software as is - but, the user interface does feel a bit 2005 (chunky). I don't know why I keep finding it visually distracting. But, again, who cares!
