Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Manage Engine's OP Manager provided centralized monitoring for Network devices, server, firewall and other network components in a single console. Through the console we can get a good visibility of network device's metrics, device availability and disk utilization. It sents a alerts when the device are went to down, so it very helpful for IT infrastructure management.
  • OP Manager Nexus monitoring multiple sources into one place, like switch, router, firewall, Access points. So the centralized visibility is useful for monitoring networks and overall IT Operations, while the interface helps administrators quickly understand the current status of their infrastructure.
  • Centralized, NOC style dashboards with customizable drag and drop widgets, color coded status indicators, and floor/heat maps for tracking server, switch, firewall, and router health makes it easy to use by an not technical persons also
  • In my organization we are using OP Manager for monitoring network devices, like firewall, switch, router and access points. Using OP Manager we can see the centralized dashboard, clear visibility into device health, CPU, memory and availability. In my usage experience one of the biggest advantages is the ability to monitor different infrastructure components from a single console.
  • OpManager Nexus provides a convenient way to monitor network devices and infrastructure from a centralized platform. The dashboards are useful for quickly checking device availability, bandwidth utilization, CPU and memory usage, and overall network health. Alerts and performance reports also help the IT team identify issues before they become major problems.

Cons

  • Reports needs to customization because the default format is not as a normal and when i generate a 6 month of report it takes a lot of time.
  • OP Manager contains lot of features, we new users may need some time to understand. It sends a lot of false positive alerts so engineer needs prompt fine tune. AI suggestions also very poor it's not worked properly.
  • Deeper configuration areas like custom SNMP rules and report templates feel cluttered, No built in asset management for endpoints like laptops difficult to tuning alert thresholds
  • I feel some cons in OP Manager tool that is, number of monitoring and customization options can feel overwhelming initially and alert configuration also requires proper tuning because it sends lot of false positive alerts.
  • The initial setup and tuning can take some time, especially when monitoring a larger environment. There are also many configuration and monitoring options, so new administrators may need some time to understand and customize the platform according to their requirements.
