About

The free remote desktop software for business and personal use. With Distant Desktop you can access and manage computers from anywhere in the world. No installation or registration required. Everything is extremely simple: download the application to your computer and to the computer you intend to control. Write down your unique ID and password and use this data to establish a remote desktop connection. While working you can send and receive the text messages from your remote partner. Just write to integrated chat window. Use a microphone and speakers, or a headset for voice communication. The Demonstration mode is another way to use our remote desktop software. In this mode you allow remote access to your desktop, but the ability to control your PC is disabled. The users are allowed to see your actions, talk to you, or send messages to chat. This mode is ideal for distance education, training or presenting your digital products.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Lightweight and portable. All options and functions are packed into the simple and easy interface. Good and stable connection.
  • Just get the free version. Free is great, cause customer service sucks. They claim to contact you within 24 hrs, but they don’t.
  • DD is perfectly designed, so even a child could use it. Also I like the support. These guys helped my a lot when I had some problems.
  • It's free - this is the main advantage of this software. Second advantage is simplicity and ease of use.
  • Personally I like the interface. It is very convenient for me. All controls are available on the title bar, the options can be adjusted right from the main menu. Everything is clear and easy to understand.

Cons

  • Strange warning on the connection window saying that upnp is not enabled. I contacted vendor and was told to ignore this warning.
  • Customer service sucks. They claim to contact you within 24 hrs, but they don’t.
  • You can't change the output directory for the transferred files.
  • Sometimes the signal is interrupted, and I have no mind why it's happening.
  • The signal speed could be higher. Sometimes there is a gap of 2-3 seconds.
