Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros It is easy to install and configure. The reports are completely customizable. Seamless integration with third party applications. It allows us to discover networks, physical and virtual servers easily and import data. It allows visualizing of application dependency mapping. The best feature of Device 42 is that it is highly customizable and flexible in terms of integration with other software programs. The user interface of the software is designed in such a way that it displays all the necessary data in an organized manner. It offers various pre-defined reports and built-in dependency mapping topologies that cut down the input time and increases the overall productivity. Device42 is a great software product that our business team really requires to work on a day to day basis. It is very helpful and really increases productivity. The Room, Rack, and Device model layouts are some of the best features in Device 42. Very much a lightweight Visio for building server rooms, cable diagrams, and rack elevation diagrams for ones IT companies. I like how customizable and versatile of an infrastructure platform Device42 is. The support is better than its peers. Cons Occasionally the system may be slow which can cause decrease in speed of completing tasks. The user interface and the graphics used in the software feels a bit outdated in use. Not many issues specifically with the product or software. There could be some more functionality built into the product. The UI is a bit dated, lacks modern graphic elements like one we need for a pure data center operations. It can feel slow at times/somewhat laggy, due to how central it is.	Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros Very easy to deploy and start infrastructure and application discovery. Agentless discovery. Multi Cloud and On-Premises discovery. Application dependency mapping and mapping between Applications and Business services. Agentless and therefore light touch. Relatively simple setup. Reasonably priced. Good tech support. -Easy to use (simple GUI) -Easy to install -Great time support the product -Quick discovery -Requires less privileges compared with other discovery tools, -Certificates management tool is a very useful feature -No internet access needed -Low cost Cons The GUI looks a bit outdated. NetFlow/SFlow configuration may not be accepted by some companies. Tech support was not 24x7. Our time zone (Australia) meant that tech support was only available outside our working hours. So typically it resulted in next day response for us. -Could require to modify virtualization networking configuration (Netflow solution)
