Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros Everything in one place, easy to use and really happy i tried it. now I have all my documents here. Thanks. Privacy and safety by default. Automatically all data is encrypted, meaning that no one can read your files or data. Not even your preferred Big Tech company (windows/apple/google). You can work or collaborate online without even signing up with any of your credentials. And even without paying a single penny! Very user friendly. No install or signing-up required. Just GO! FREE cloud space (without getting tracked online or showing ads) You gotta LOVE that! PS: you might think these inventions push companies out of the market. The opposite is actually true. Big tech companies buy or simply copy new inventions often made by well-skilled people. They don't stand a chance with the aggressive monopoly-like big tech companies. Cons Some features need added but its fantastic, i love to have everything in one place. No name, no fame (people might get a bit distracted by an unknown lay-out or even a bit suspicious. The lay-out could be a bit better and the encrypting logo's etc. might scare off a bit. Takes a bit longer to load (because of the automatic encryption). Not in all languages. Yet!	Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros Offers a wide range of apps for efficient workflow and collaboration. Features like video calls and collaborative tools are great for team projects. Effective for both personal and business file storage and management. The experience with Nextcloud has been very positive as a collaborative tool in the education sector. Open source. Self Hosted - perfect for home use and absolutely free. Highly secure. Available on smartphones. One of the pros of Nextcloud is that it has a number of providers for free, and you can choose a provider on a single click. -slower, stable growth path of scale, scope and capabilities. -APP plugin market. -integration capabilities (excellent with ONLYOFFICE). -great starter for private person with growth path into small business. -fantastic community. Cons Requires self-hosting or setting up through a Nextcloud partner. I preferred not to set it up at the moment. Although, I am capable to host it as I have hosted ownCloud earlier. I did not want to deal with port forwarding and other server related issues. So, I chose to go with a Nextcloud partner which has worked flawlessly for me. To date I cannot consider a negative criterion, the developers are going in the right direction. The client doesn't work well for uploading large number of small files (like old photos on phone). For the time I've used the Nextcloud providers, I haven't found any issues to my attention. -quality review of app plugins could be better (what works well for what version). -version handling (plugin capabilities seem to often link to specific versions). -needs to expand on developer and community efforts.
