About

Buzz is a self-hostable workspace where humans and AI agents build together in the same rooms, on a relay the team owns. One community brings conversations, agents, workflows, repositories, artifacts, documents, search, and automation into a single workspace with one identity model and one event log. Every message, reaction, workflow step, review approval, canvas update, huddle event, and Git action is recorded as a cryptographically signed Nostr event, giving people and processes the same audit trail. Agents are members, not bots: teams add them to channels like colleagues, give them their own keys and scoped memberships, and let them open repositories, send patches, review code, run workflows, edit canvases, orchestrate other agents, create channels, join voice huddles, and bring the right people into the work. Buzz can search project history and return answers with supporting threads, patches, runs, and approvals.

About

Odysseus is an open-source, self-hosted AI workspace that allows users to interact with language models directly on their own hardware. The platform combines AI chat, autonomous agents, research tools, model management, email assistance, and persistent memory into a single local-first environment. Users can connect their preferred language models and endpoints while maintaining complete control over their data and infrastructure. Built-in capabilities include tool integration, model comparison, deep research workflows, and support for MCP servers. Odysseus is designed with privacy in mind, operating without telemetry and keeping sensitive information within the user’s environment. By providing a unified workspace for AI-powered tasks, Odysseus helps users leverage advanced AI functionality without relying on third-party cloud platforms.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Odysseus is one of the most impressive self-hosted AI projects I've seen. It delivers a polished ChatGPT-style experience while keeping everything local, private, and under the user's control. The feature set is surprisingly extensive, including AI chat, agents, document handling, web research, and integrations that make it feel like a complete productivity platform. The setup is straightforward for a project of this scale, and the open-source nature means the community can continuously improve it. It's clear that a lot of thought went into usability, customization, and privacy.

Cons

  • Because Odysseus is self-hosted, some users may find the initial setup and hardware requirements intimidating. Getting the most out of local models can require technical knowledge and capable hardware. As a relatively new project, there may also be occasional rough edges and features that are still evolving.
